State.

Getting so hard sometimes. It's like we live close enough to be fooled into thinking we can actually begin our life together. When, in reality, it hasn't truly started until I am able to land and live under one roof with my wife.

Hard day is all. I know you all will understand exactly what i mean. I'm at least lucky enough to go there on weekends. It's a tough transition each week, though.

My son's birthday is also on Halloween and that is what he was doing (put up to it my partner shouting from the sidewalk "tell them it's your birthday and ask for more candy!!"). Needless to say that now we are in Canada he loves having his birthday on Halloween as it is such a big deal here. 8)
HAHAHAHA... that's a riot... I did not shout it out... but I kept reminding her between houses... lmao... :p

Thank you, ddobro2 :) The day is better, and I am more in the head of counting my blessings. Phew. My LMO is moving along as well! My prospective employer is meeting with the CIC next week to discuss the application. The job is a fluke of timing, but a dream job. I would love to work in this type of setting regardless of where. The where is a bonus, though! It would be right where my wife lives!

Congrats to all landing and getting PPRs! You really are the proof in our very long pudding!

Oh! It was beyond stressful! I was soo frustrated, I think I got depressed and then we were no longer communicating well. When Dair posted about the strain between herself and hubby, I was thinking: "Gosh! If only U knew!".
And its a good thing he was far away too, cos I probably would have gotten myself arrested for assault or "spousal brutality" (if there was any such thing! lol)

It was hard on me. I have to learn to relax or I will age much faster than my husband with his "relax, relaxxxxx" attitude. ::)

:) :) looool spousal brutality, I know what you mean I stress more than my husband, he is always telling me to 'chill' which gets me more cheesed off so he doesnt say that no more, :D ...
Well as for the timeline for my VO , its normally 18 months but some have got within 7 months. I really hope I dont get an interview, would just want a PPR straight up..Interview make me nervous, other than that i would sooooo kick a** at that interview, :p i now its make or break so i will have to do the best i can, and I do agree with you interviews add the stress...So we will just have to wait and see

Hi all. Been away for a while because stress is making me crazy...lol.
Just checked my ecas today and this is what it says:

We received your application for permanent residence on June 27, 2011.

We started processing your application on October 6, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

So, so happy!!!
BTW, I talked before regarding applying for TRV. Yes we did applied over a week ago. .Not sure if it helped. I also talked about getting CAIPS. I did but have not received it. I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Hope it's a VISA. Thank you Lord!!!

We got an email today requesting we mail my spouse's passports for visa issuance. :) I have a couple of questions regarding this. In the email, a link was provided listing instructions for passport submission. It lists two addresses that we can send the passports to, one in Buffalo, and one in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

Our application was made to Buffalo (so outland I guess?). Does that mean we have to send the passports to Buffalo, or can we send it to the Canadian address listed on that link?

My spouse is currently visiting me here in Canada. Should she be in the US when she sends the passports, and wait there to receive it, and then cross the border?

Thanks!

Yes, you are definetely applying outland if your file was processed through Buffalo. Congrats on the PPR. Do you mind sharing your timeline so I can add it to the spreadsheet? You might want to also post your great news in the Buffalo thread. I'm sure they'll enjoy hearing it.

If the principal applicant is in Canada at the time that the embassy requests the passport, he or she should mail it to the Fort Erie address. If s/he is in the U.S., s/he can mail it to Buffalo. In either case, s/he can also choose to submit the passport in person at the Buffalo office. You'd get the visa and be able to land without delay in that case.

Ok, so since she's currently still visiting Canada, we can mail her passport off to the Fort Erie Ontario location, then they'll mail it back to my Canadian address?

And once we receive her passport, we just have to cross over to Buffalo, turn around back to Canada and get stamped?

Yes. Be sure to read the instructions though.

No, you don't need to go to Buffalo to land, since you (would) have your visa in-hand (haha, that rhymes!). You just head for the border (closest port of entry). Make sure you research well where and when to go and what documents to take with you.
