Just wanted to post this on here to encourage everyone going through the Accra VO. It seems that this VO is getting "better" recently. Our application was processed in 4 months and 3 weeks. We had prayed to complete the process without an interview due to resulting delays but that didnt happen...

I have heard of an application being processed in 4 months - someone on this forum (I dont remember the name now). Our application was processed start to finish (including the very-annoying interview) in exactly 4 months and 3 weeks. I have not heard of anything shorter than 4 months though.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I think the more recently received applications are the ones being processed more quickly...I know that doesnt make any sense but that seems to be case. Also, the so-called straight-forward applications are processed more quickly, of course.

I agree. Also I read somewhere that visa officers were recently added to Accra and mayb Nairobi to help reduce the long waiting times. They also seem to be more considerate, like requesting additional docs/forms together with an interview rather than request the docs to be sent first then...

Yes, Accra had some depressing timelines. And high levels of rejections.

Thanks. :) So, our interview went well. My husband got his visa right away. So, our entire application took less than 5 months in all. So Accra has DEFINITELY improved; they used to be known for taking forever. I wouldnt go by the official timelines on the CIC website cos its obviously not...

I think Accra has gotten soo much better/faster lately, for sponsoring spouses that is.
