Hi all May 2010 Applicants!!

I sent my application on 5 May 2010. Received at Sydney office on 14 May 2010. I applied under category NOC 7241. Can you add me to this list as well please. I sent a bank draft. Does anybody know how long the bank draft remain valid?. I made it from money changer's and I have no way of knowing if it's already been cashed or not. So far no email or letter from CIO?? Why May 2010 applicants not getting any AOR???????? Got any Clue???? Please update..Thanks.

Don't forget to update if you have any news!!! :)

What is meant by a cap? Does that limit refer to the total number of applications received or the total number of applications processed, or the total number of applications that are successful?

The cap is a limit on the number of complete applications considered for processing. In this case, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will only consider a maximum of 20,000 complete applications under the occupation list. There is no limit to the number of applicants with a job offer. Within the 20,000 cap, a maximum of 1,000 federal skilled worker applications per occupation will be considered for processing each year.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/immigrate/skilled/changes-fsw-faq05.asp

So, this means COUNTER is increased for all complete applications(all necessary documents, no blanks, CC charged succesfully) -> and application could be processed. Therefore, as CIC fill the CAP of completed applications, they announce STOP on receiving further applications.
After that they start processing them (issuing AOR) from - May, June to August, September.

How will applications subject to new instructions be processed as compared to applications subject to the first set of instructions and the backlog?

All applications subject to ministerial instructions (everything received since February 27, 2008) will be considered for processing in the order they are received.

All federal skilled worker applications received before February 27, 2008 fall into the backlog, and will be processed concurrently with the applications received since that date (and that are subject to instructions)

Dear Anata,
I wrote to share the content of the letter sent by CIO of Mike with us. As you see, thousands of people are waiting for AOR eagerly.
He may remove his personal information like any number he can replace with B-123456 and his Name by Mikes Andrews, or Tom Cruise etc.
I also requested him not to change the dates and papers to submit to VO or if anywhere else, where.
Please follow up.
Regards,
INDIANA JONES.
IndianaJones, are you still interested to see the content of the email received from CIO, Sydney (the AOR) ?

Dear Comrade
Hope you all had a lovely weekend without the thought of Sydney or AOR?
No matter how long a journey may be there is only one known solution to it -The four letter word--TIME
Even if a snail were to crawl from Australia to London, it will get there in a matter of TIME
The distance between India and Canada is hundred of kilometers, yet British Airways in matter of TIME will transport people there

I really do appreciate the patience of all applicants including my humble self. We have toiled, we have labored, we have waited
still CIO seems to be silence on our cherished project.

It is my prayer that answer will come soon and the TIME will be NOW

Cheers

Hi tegnus

The info is very much on their website just browse their stats you will find it and its quite interesting to analyse it as they are issuing visa to almost every application which is eligible sooner or later so all of us must be praying and waiting

To all who are awaiting AOR from CIO
Please find below an information I obtained from a post in this forum

:Regarding the current pace of activities in Accra, I just got this GENERAL information from one of the other groups and I think it makes some sense so I am sharing it here for us all as an encouragement:

"The processing of federal class is taking longer not due to the Student Visa applications. As processing of Student Visa's is done by different unit not economic unit. The reasons of delay is re-posting of staff around the world in month of August and September and the Immigration year end in September. Minister will present his report to Parliament in this session and a new targets for Visa will be issued."

Based on this, it seems activities should generally pick up in Accra shortly.

Dear All,
I have to ask you some questions for my eligibility points:
1) i am a graduate mech engineer with more than 16 yrs full time study-points to be awrded 20 ( i think sure i will get..)
2)experience-total 10 years of experience but 2 rs exp in FSW NOC so points - 17( 17 to be sure but if other 8 yrs will be considered which is all as per NOC then it should be 21...??)
3)Age-below 40 so sure 10 points.
4)adaptability-wife is having double diploma of 1 yr each and 12 yrs full time study so 3 points and wife's sis in Canada so 5 points-total 8 points sure?!!)
5)IELTS-expecting 14 points as didnt do well in listenening..
so as per the above stats.i should get education-20,language-14,exp-17(minimum),age-10 and adaptability-8 points which makes total 69 points considering which i applied initially....
BTW,my status is-CC got charged and waiting for AOR and in may applicants list..

Now,My questions are:

1) can i be 100% sure of my 69 points?!!
2) if total exp is counted of 10 years( all with NOCs but only 2 yrs in FSW-39 occupation NOCs) then i will get 21 points and then can get 74 points?!!
3) Should i take IELTS again to get 16 points full which i think i can do.. as this time i lost concentration in listenening which may cause only 2 points in listening but R-W-S all went well so hoping total 14 points..
4)in CIC documents mentioned high efficiency in all L,R,W & S-IELTS but will get moderate in listening..should that be ok i fulfill the points requirment?!!

sorry to ask so many questions but if someone can throw some lights on my case pl..

thanx

Nevil
