Thanks. Six weeks are over and seventh is running. Let's hope your forecast comes true.

Cheers...

A friendly suggestion ....

You have applied to Buffalo.... that means you are already in USA or Canada on temp work/student visa...
So pls. wait & do not send mail to visa office, in there instructions, they have mentioned not to write them until it is required and as we have noticed with users of this site that avg. time is 7-8 weeks but (if I am correct) officially it is much more, so do not write until official time line is crossed, as to be on safe side...

I have been waiting for USA GC since long time.... so this time line is 100 times better to that....

Wish you all the best....

Hey guys

So I just received a letter in the mail (snail mail) from Buffalo... they have given me my new file number and mentioned that now they will be considering my application and if I am eligible then they will process it.

So how likely is it to get rejected now?

My consultant recieved a call from Buffalo office on the last Tuesday to verify if I am still in Canada and if I am stll working. I don't know if this is good sign or bad. Still no AOR....

Vermas

Maybe they are just checking on your documents... i'm surprised I got my AOR in 2 weeks... what category did you apply under FSW 1, 2 or 3?

Becksterd,

I am also FSW 3 applicant. My PG work permit is good for another 5 weeks, then will return to my country. You have been lucky and I wish you continued better luck..

Cheers....

I am still dreaming my Buffalo AOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Vermas; this is just friendly view and not answer to your question(s);
I am trying to suggest you to focus on positive points in your case, so that you can have good time till your application is processed;

-you are already in Canada for studies, which is a positive thing even if you go back to native country after 5 months.
you experience in Canada is always valid.
-Check with your consultant, what your consultant is suggesting?
-even though guidelines are same for all but every case is different & visa officer applies their instinct in each case; so sometime few case may take time.
-In case you do not get satisfactory answer from consultant, be open to check with visa office.

Hi pooja123,

Thanks for your advise and morale boster. I am returning to India on 27 June 2010 as my PG work permit expires on 29 June.

In one of your previous posts, you sugested not to send mail to the Consulate as it may irritate them. I will wait for another two weeks before taking next step.

Cheers....

Hi Vermas,
I understand your feeling right now. Life is sometimes really tough at some point, but don't lose heart.
I just want to give you a friendly reminder, if you leave Canada then you may run a risk losing the eligibility of applying under FSW3 as it explicitly states that one must still legally residing in Canada at the time the visa is issued. Are you really planning to abandon your previous efforts?

Hello liherb,
Where did you read "about a risk losing the eligibility of applying under FSW3 as it explicitly states that one must still legally residing in Canada at the time the visa is issued". Can u make a reference to CIC guide?
Thanks,

Are there any more applicants who submitted their documents to Buffalo Consulate in March-April 2010 and are still waiting for their Buffalo AOR like me? I have sent two reminders to Buffalo for status update but have failed to elicit a reply. Its becoming increasingly frustrating wait.

Verma :(

Hi friends,

Here is the good news for me. Finally, I have received my second AOR (Buffalo) with new file number by e-mail. It took me almost 6 months (from 29 March -24 September 2010) to get the AOR. I am not able access e-Cas using the new file number (may happen next week) and using the old CIO, NS file number shows the same old information related to CIO, NS approval.

I sincerely wish that all others waiting for their AOR get it without further delay.

Cheers.....

Hi Becksterd & Vermas,

I am also under FSW3 ... and hoping to receive my medical request before end of my contract... My contract will end up on November this year :( and I am still hoping that my employer will renew my contract for at least another year while my application is still on going...

Worst case scenario : What am I gonna do if my employer did not process the renewal of my work permit ? should I go back home or I should file a restoration or extension? I am looking forward to receive medical request within october.. keep on praying for that...

Could you please advise me?... thank you soo much for your time..

God Bless...
