Hello all. I am a Canadian citizen getting married in Brazil. I am about to request a statement of civil status from Nova Scotia. The way they do it is that they'll do a search for any marriages registered in my name, and then present a document stating that there are no marriages registered in my name for the years searched. My question is, for how many years should I request the search?
