How are you seeing which part of the background is in process? Tracker showed background in progress, and not updating, and GCKey just shows background in progress. Definitely making me want to check out the notes when I get them.

Hi everyone !

my partner and I just finished our sponsorship ( she’s the PR HOLDER) 2 weeks ago with no AOR yet. My post grad work permit expires on the 17th ( super close).

so the decision is wether we submit my extension for and open work permit now or wait till I get the AOR which in that case my permit would be expired and I’d have to apply for a restoration.

we plan on going ahead with submitting before it before it expires on the 17th but I would appreciate some advice or guidance if any! Much appreciated.

Hello, Since you are a June applicant, there are others that would be closer to your timeline that you can communicate with in those posts. This link is for the June 2024 inland applicants:
June 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

And this is for the June 2024 Outland applicants:
June 2024 Outland Spousal Sponsorship

As for your work permit, If that is the 17th of this month, I would go ahead and apply for the SOWP as soon as possible. Generally you have to wait for the AOR, but since you have less than 2 weeks left, you can apply. Once you apply, you will be under implied status which means you can stay in Canada until a decision is made on THAT application. If for some reason that application is denied, then you would be out of status. Hope that helps you, and good luck with your applications. Also don't forget to check out the link for the June applications area.

I called IRCC and the agent told me about it. Also I requested GCMS notes as well and it’s mentioned on it as well.

Anyone else in the same boat? Submitted on March 19th, AOR April 10th. We still haven't received Sponsor Approval and AIP. Meds and Bio completed.

Hello, how are you? Sharing with you our timeline:
  • March 28, 2024 — Application Received
  • April 18, 2024 — AOR Received
  • June 24, 2024 — Biometrics Request
  • June 25, 2024 — Pre-Arrival Letter
  • June 28, 2024 — Biometrics Done
  • June 28, 2024 — Biometrics Completed
  • July 03, 2024 — Approval in Principle
  • July 03, 2024 — Eligibility Letter
  • July 04, 2024 — Medical Passed
Tracker has not been updated since April 29, just showing that the application was submitted. GcKey’s last update was July 4, medical passed. Background check, Eligibility, Final Decision are in progress.

Do you know what part of the application process that they check for the genuineness of relationship? Is it Background Check or Eligibility?

Thank you!

We haven't received any of the eligibility either. Some people seemed to have gotten them prior to bio and meds, but not in our case, and guess not in yours either. Keep our fingers crossed, hopefully soon we'll get them.

We're past medical, biometrics, AIP, and SA, but the tracker hasn't been updated in 2 months. Anyone have any insights into this? Is it worth submitting a webform request to update it?
