July 8th. All green except oath Ghost update 7/10 Then I got Oath 'in progress' July 22 and oath scheduled and email sent July 24. In person oath August 8th. My file is in the Montreal office.

Hi, I have a question regarding purposefully delaying an oath ceremony. Everything in my tracker was updated last week, except for Citizenship ceremony, which is still market as Not Started. I have a vacation trip booked to the US between Sep 11 and 22, so I really would like to take the oath any day after Sep 23. It's took risky for me to take it before due to the time it takes for getting a passport. My possible references are all in a different province from where I currently reside, thus increasing the risks of not getting the passport in time. Am I able to get in contact with the office processing my application (Vancouver, if it's the same one that asked me for fingerprints) and ask for a delayed scheduled, considering my tracker still shows it as Not started?

Ps.: I booked my trip around the same time as I started my application, as the processing time back then showed 14 months as I remember. Everything happened way faster (4-5 months).

You can raise a webform and request the same. Do note it could lead to unwanted delay too for getting oath scheduled.
Its normally better to go with the flow.

Very happy to report that after about 5 weeks from the last status update, the tracker is now showing that the oath date has been scheduled for mid August. I haven't received the actual invite yet but hope to get it in the next couple of days. Assuming that it will be virtual.

This will give me just enough time to obtain the passport for my trip in September (have to leave by Sep 12th at the latest). I checked for appointments online and the earliest one that was offered was Sep 10th which is too late. Worst case scenario I know is I can go to the Victoria street office in Toronto and queue up. Any advice on a better workaround? I don't mind traveling anywhere within Toronto or even GTA for an appointment in the week of Aug 19.
