Hi Folks,
Can you please advise, I am heading to India to get married and I had to resign my job as it is a 2 month leave and they were not ready to give me a paid vacation. My annual income is around 35000$. But since I am not having any Job at present or at the time of sending an application. will it create any problem.

hi there is no problem at the time of application as there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship .
if you are a canadian citizen you may sponsor your spouse while living in india but you need to include with your application ( letter showing your intention to return and plans on how you will re-establish in canada when your spouse get PR) , but if you are only a PR you cant sponsor your spouse while living abroad . if you going to india to get married and then send your sponsorship application then its ok but you have to go back to canada after ASAP .

Welp, we all got our AOR, here's to all of us getting SA this week, except to the Americans who already got theirs in 5 days after

Just wanna ask your ideas guys if it's ok to submit the spousal sponsorship to CIC via UPS in placed in a small box. I put all the forms, pictures and other evidence in a small box for I coudn't find any envelope that will fit in. Is there any problem with that one? Thanks

Hi,

I live in the UK and sent my application to Mississauga on March 18th. It arrived there (was signed for) on March 26th. I have received nothing since - not an email or letter. Is this normal? I understand the wait is at least 69 days (?) but to receive nothing at all?

Thanks in advance and I apologise if there is a repetition of another post.

That's fine. Sounds like you are sending a lot, but if it's what you think you need to prove the case, then that's fine...

hi everyone, so while some of us are anxiously waiting for our SAs, i have this little dilemma, and i'd appreciate all insights, i'm a PR. Is it possible for me to reunite with my hubby while we are processing his application? That means i have to go home (to the philippines) to be with him. Will it in some way affect our application? And would I, as a PR of canada would be allowed a 3-4months stay out of the country?

If I remember correctly from others and quote me if i'm wrong, PR holders are allowed short visits, 3 weeks? anything more puts your application in serious jepardy.

Exactly this ^^

Most of the abbreviations are not clear to me :(
SA, AOR, Ecas, ..... etc

Anyway, I hope someone will answer me.

Here is the status of both applications as I see them now online.
Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
Permanent Residence Application Status: Application Received.

Is this a good thing or bad thing?

More info about my online sponsorship application status:

1- We received your application on March 4, 2015.
2- We started processing your application on April 15, 2015.
3- We sent you a letter on May 6, 2015 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

When should I expect the mail to be delivered?
What is next? What should I expect next steps.
I am afraid since the PR application status has not been changed to "in process", that the my sponsorship application is rejected???? Does that make sense to you too??

This really very stressful. Hope that someone has good interpretation to me.

It's a good thing generally - and I'd be shocked if the sponsorship is anything but approved. You or your representative should have also received an email if you provided them with an email address. I don''t know what country you are from, but generally the "in process" on the PR side takes a long time after sponsor approval, from a few weeks to few months depending on the visa office for the PR application.

Abbreviations: AOR is the acknowledgement of receipt of your package
SA - sponsor approval
eCAS is the online system you have been using to check the application.
