It's a good thing generally - and I'd be shocked if the sponsorship is anything but approved. You or your representative should have also received an email if you provided them with an email address. I don''t know what country you are from, but generally the "in process" on the PR side takes a long time after sponsor approval, from a few weeks to few months depending on the visa office for the PR application.

Abbreviations: AOR is the acknowledgement of receipt of your package
SA - sponsor approval
eCAS is the online system you have been using to check the application.

Thanks a lot.
I am in Canada "SK". My wife is in Algeria. PR Application should be sent to Paris VO as per my understand.
The status has been updated in the online system yesterday" during the weekend!". But the decision date was written as of May 6th.
I have no representative and I didn't receive any email yet.

Thanks again for the hope you gave me. I am traveling to Algeria this Saturday and I was hoping to take the good news to my wife with me :)

Glad to be able to give you good news. Usually the email comes before the online system changes, but not always. If you don't get something by midweek, try calling CIC and they should be able to confirm the sponsor approval. Just let them know you didn't get the email.

If I remember correctly from others and quote me if i'm wrong, PR holders are allowed short visits, 3 weeks? anything more puts your application in serious jepardy.

I'm American, too. Same breakdown - 36 days for AOR which we got on April 23, and still waiting for SA.

How many Americans got SA in 5 days?

we are in same boat,
they recieved my file on 23 march and aor recieved on 25 april.
let me know if you hear anything
thnks

Happy Monday to my fellow March applicant friends, even though Mondays suck! here's to all us getting SA on our forms this week, today even for some? Fingers crossed for everyone.

Same thing to you :)

I don't know why I didn't receive any email from them after the AOR. But, hope the post mail will be arrived this week.
From reading the posts and others experience, they receive SA over the email before the ECAS is updated to "DM".
In my case, ECAS is updated in 09 May stating that a mail has been sent to me in 06 May.

I felt better after rugrat907 words. But, still very nervous. Especially when I look at March table and see that all of those who applied in the same time have received their SA days ago !!!!!

Hopefully the good news are on the way ???

Newb questions. What do AOR and SA mean?

Thanks!

American here
AOR 3/7/15
SA 5/4/15

My wife and I received this message on our Sponsorship Approval letter. We turned in everything that the doctor game me during my medical exam which is why this part of the letter was so confusing.

"Your relatives must complete the medical examination and, once completed, forward this information directly to the visa office noted above along with a copy of this letter. Your application has been transferred to the visa office noting this deficiency. Your relative(me) must forward the medical information directly to the visa office to allow continued processing of his/her application."

Anyone else receive something similar in their letter?

That's a form letter and CIC has admitted there's something wrong in the system that is putting that language in a lot of letters. If you log into eCAS using the UCI supplied in the AOR and the sponsor's information, you should also see that the applicant's paperwork has been received and you can click on the link...mine shows medicals received. I haven't gotten SA yet, so can't tell you that I got the same message, but I'm fully expecting it...

Hehehe that is the spirit d_j_heckford..
May God hear our prayers..
Hopefully this week will bring a storm of good news.
Let's wait for the best :)

You're spot on. After re-reading the letter this morning, I logged into check our application status. Under "permanent resident application status" it said "medicals received." So I'm guessing we're okay.

People are already paranoid enough about forgetting something through the process, that form letter does a great job of amplifying our fears.

I never expect anything on Mondays since cic has a delay on their system.
I'm waiting for tomorrow bringing some good news
