The baby will be convered under Gerald's healthcare. And there's fairly easily access to private healthcare should something serious happen.

hahaha.....no, I made a typo. I was trying to type " new born" but hit "p" instead of "b". So now you know which word it censored.

Hey got your pm... Glad everything is well for you and baby. Have a safe journey and I am sure your Hubby is so so anxious to see both of you!!!

Our case is progressing along. Still at application Received though, which is ok due to me being practically a May applicant, not March. I ordered gcms notes July 22 to see what cause the delay for the SA, but still have not got them.

Did you get a confirmation email or an order number or something? (I forget if I got one) cause you should reply if you got an email and say you don't have them yet. I thought they were required to comply with the 30 day thing?

Can somebody please help to update my status.
IP on Aug 19, PPR Aug 28, additional request for intention to reside in Canada Aug 28. Passports and documents sent off today. Thanks.

Singsingsing, have you got your passport back yet?

Nope. I did notice my cheque for 5.00 was cleared through my account on Aug 8 or something. It is taking longer than the 30 days for many others as well.

Congrats! Spreadsheet update is done.

I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife via an outland application. We are living in Korea. Manila asked us for addition documents in late July, which we supplied, and our app status has since been updated to "In Process". So everything's going well....only my wife is pregnant and we're expecting November 12th. With the little one on the way (our second), we now plan to return to Canada in July 2015, rather than fall of this year (what we said in our app). I know we're obligated to inform Manila of the birth of a child. Here are some questions...

1. How long does my wife have to 'land' once the application goes through?
2. Is there anything wrong with her landing to get PR and immediately returning to Korea (then returning for good next summer)?
3. If the baby is born and we still haven't gotten a decision, do you know whether this will delay the application?

Our worry is a) we get approved before the baby arrives, but we're in no position to return to Canada yet; or b) the baby arrives, we inform immigration, and our application gets delayed so that even next summer becomes a problem.

Any advice appreciated!!

Usually you have till your medical expires which is usually a year later.. As far as I am aware yes she can land and then leave and then come back at a later date.

Thanks for the reply. Right, so if we do get approval we were planning for her to make a quick trip in February before medical expires in March. We've heard rumors of immigration officers giving people a hard time in that kind of situation, especially when the applicant shows up without his/her sponsor. We're wondering whether I should make the trip, too, although that's a lot of money to spend on a 'what if'.

they might question it. or you can ask your VO if they can give an extension due to your circumstances.

That's a great suggestion. It never occurred to me to contact the VO.

hi guys,

march 28 applicant here (Manila Office)

For some reason our application hasn't been touched after it got transferred to Manila. We've seen other applicants from March, April, May and some June that already got Passport Request.
According to the Manila spreadsheet, there's only a couple of applicants without PPR yet and they've completed the other months already.

I've emailed the Manila office and only got a generic answer "Please note that your file has been transferred to the Visa Office in Manila"

Should I email them again and check if there's any progress with our application? or would that just annoy the visa officer? :(

thanks!

Well, in that "generic email", they told you that they have up to 28 days to reply to your original email. So, unless 28 days has passed, no sense in sending repeat emails. Can I ask if you are married? The reason I'm asking is that I noticed some folks who applied under the "conjugal" take much longer for their application to get processed.
