:-\.. Been more than two months after PPR and still without visa.. Oh well, can't complaint, under 14 months processing time.. :-X

You can complain anytime you want. I would be doing it often. Everyone should be contacting their MP's stating that they wish to lodge a formal complaint.

WOW! Really? We are in October and we just got our PPR letter! LOL we are so behind! My wife is Japanese btw

Does anyone have any tips on getting the CIC Manila to work faster? Should I send them some red bull?

My wife and I started the process at the embassy in Seoul but they've since shut down the immigration and visa service at the Seoul embassy and have moved the operations to Manila. Is there anyone else out there in a similar situation or that has gone through the process (living in Korea and having the application for PR processed in Manila)?

I've tried emailing the embassy to ask for an update but all we get back is that it's in "queue for routine background security and criminality check" and that will "advise if any further documents are required."

Anybody? Any help, advice or just words of encouragement would be appreciated! ;D

Thanks all.

From the looks of things Dan, you're much further along than I am. I haven't even gotten sponsorship approval yet.

Keep the faith,,,someday you will be free from this foolishness of CEM

It probably doesn't help that the processing officers are on strike at the moment too aren't they?

Yeah, there is the strike to bear through right now as well, how long ago did you submit your application?

Hang in there, I have been told that CIC in Manila is like babysitting. You just have to hold their hand and spoon feed them your information very carefully.

As for the strike, there was supposed to be a deadline today I believe. So hopefully positive news comes from that. The CIC processing officers are still issuing visas, so hopefully they get some time for PR's too.

The application process was started on September 10, 2012. But I have no idea when the application was transferred from Seoul to Manila except to know that the immigration and visa services were shut down in Seoul back in January. Any advice or insight?

Write an unemotional formal letter to your MP stating your frustration. They might be able to start a complaint for you.

Almost a year and not even sponsorship approval? I would me making inquiries then most definitely, rattle your MP's cage, and keep trying to get someone to respond to your requests for info. You should of had you SA long ago. You should be going brain dead right about now from the mind numbing routine of checking ecas far to often hoping for some tidbit of an update. I don't know the rest of the published timeline for Korea, but I was under the impression SA's should of been all decided in about 30 days give or take.

Yeah, I've been in touch with my MP's office and they've gotten the same response from the embassy ... that it's in line. I'm totally going nuts.

After we submitted the application, the Seoul embassy requested a criminal record check from the RCMP. That took something like 4 months. Then RIGHT exactly when the immigration and visa service in the Seoul embassy was being closed down was when the CRC from the RCMP arrived at the Seoul embassy and I had to go to the Seoul embassy and pick it up and send it to Manila.

The MP's office has sent emails, I've sent emails ... nadda except for that it's in a queue to be reviewed.
