Hello everyone...First of all I,m not on here to get fans but do agree with Canadian Jeep Guy...It should be like the USA... cannot sponsor unless a American citizen....We have non Canadian citizens working and making decisions for Canadian citizens at the CEM. I cannot even bring my wife here on a visitiors visa...we would get a Regulation 179 from a non Canadian citizen from the embassy... yes there should be a section for Canadian citizens for sponsor spouse... the back log of applications are from PR ,s sponsoring only after being in Canada for a few months... and yes getting here to Canada without even paying any taxes yet while here and their spouse here before myself.... .. do the math... its not right... but yes we have to wait after I been here for 53 years....

I can't see any incentive for them to make processing times any better. Unless we proved our spouses were also hard workers and could fill a job that was in-demand. That would be the best of both worlds :D

I could just imagine that separate queue. There would be a big rush for Citizenship all over the place ::) lol

Also, it would totally change the demographic of spouses coming in. Perhaps a lot more people from Europe, the USA and India and unfortunately less Filipinos. Maybe I'm biased but I would rather have more Filipinos any day :D They are waaaay cuter :p
I'm not sure how a processing queue would alter the demographics. Citizens marry an assortment of foreign nationals. What it would do is increase citizenship and that is not a bad thing for anyone.
Sitting in the Palawan airport on the return trip from my honeymoon I was the only white guy in the terminal and as it turned out I was surrounded by Filipinos who were from Canada (mostly BC). Many of them were around the age of retirement and I asked them if they would ever move back. All said no way but they had lived in Canada as PR's for 30 to 40 years. All the same benefits as myself but not a part of the process.

That's the problem.....the incentive should simply be service to Canadians!

And not....service to government pockets. Supply and demand as CJG has said, and I completely agree.
More apps = More money which should equal more staff.

Where oh where does it all go....hmmmm?

(Note, multiply application costs by number of 2012 family class applications then take off a generous overhead percentage, and then divide the result by a generous Canadian salary to determine the employees that SHOULD be close)

Then take some gravol......'cause it'll make you sick!

Just talking to my wife now and she told me that she ran into a woman that she knew from the marriage registrars office who married a Canuck 4 months after we got married. She is landing in a few weeks. Her whole process was 7 months.
Meanwhile 10 months later my wife and I have had no further update on our application. This process is such bullsh*t.

From what i've read from one of the post in manila thread who have a chance to go to cem the office is small and few staff for an embassy. Maybe that is why they cant handle the volume of applicants in philippines.
This is correct! I've been there before too to get my consent to marry as a Canadian citizen last year and it was a very small office. I chatted with the staff before and they told me that they close at 1PM (almost every day, I think) to work on applications.

The embassy occupies 6 floors of the RBC building.

Just sayin'....

Yes, you seem to have had an unusually (ahem) "special" ride there CJG. We're from the same "May" batch, and our whole process was 8.5 (not to rub it in or anything). I'm wondering if I'll finally be able to pull away from this site after final "closure" on your application. We've been posting concurrently for almost a year now, ... need to read/see the last chapter of your book (story).

I plan on selling my story to director Peter Jackson to be made into a three part film.....Lord of the Bullsh*t: The Fellowship of the Sponsorship Approval.....Lord of the Bullsh*t: The Two Case Processing Centres.....Lord of the Bullsh*t: The Return of the Application.

I'm thinking it might do well at the box office.

Hilarious! As one more inclined to read the books (which I did) before the movies came out. I find an interesting parallel in that when reading the final book of the original trilogy... I never did make it to the end of that book . . . :p

Thankfully my story is more along the lines of "The Hobbit" (perhaps "The Fobby" to complete your analogy), whereas our application surpasses all scrutiny and security checks sort of the way 'gollum' does (invisibly so). Also, the story of which comes to its' conclusion chronologically way ahead of yours! (Surely, I jest!)

:p :p :p :p :p LMAO you kill me CJG! You have been on fire lately with the jokes. I need to get some popcorn. At the hotel that I work in (as a freelancer) there's a Filipino guy who immigrated with his wife in the 80's. They can't wait to retire back home in CDO with their monthly cheques. They worked their tails off.. the guy lamented that his kids are already Canadian.. they won't ever live back in the Phils. But as soon as they retire and get their cheques they're out of here. It made me feel happy for them but also sad if that's how they felt all along.. only here to give their kids a better chance. A lot of people love their native country much better, if only they could live comfortably there.

Anyways.. I ordered my GCMS notes, and Drumroll.... there was nothing in them! They must have copied the file 2 weeks ago before our PPR, but emailed it this morning. They haven't started any checks or anything after 11 months! Booooo. However, it took only 20 days to receive. I will apply for them again, once they get the passport surely they will start taking some notes, right? By the way, how dumb is the mail system? He's waiting in the house every day for his AOM to be delivered. He's worried if he goes to the mall to get his pics he will miss it! And what does the delivery guy do, stand at the gate yelling AYO for 30 minutes? He will never hear that... I just don't get it.. oh well!

Not really sure how Philpost works. I'm planning to take the tour next visit maybe that will help. My wife's address sounds more like directions than an address...."BlahBlah City, behind BlahBlah shopping mall, 4th house of the left side with the new windows; not the house with the barking dog and the cat with 3 legs, Philippines".
I think I can appreciate your husband's position.
