Good point but if citizens' spousal applications were processed by a different office then the applications of the PR and the citizen would never be competing for process placement. PR applications compete with PR applications; citizen applications compete with citizen applications.
Hello everyone... all I,m saying is you should be a Canadian citizen to sponsor your spouse...It should be like America.... if Canada had a I-129 like the state we could have our spouse live with us while they wait for their Visa... they can,t work but be able to stay with your spouse in your country... I have a couple that live in my building in Hamilton and she sponsored her husband and she is a perm res... he was approved and landed in Canada in 6 months... I,m Canadian and have to wait till whenever the CEM decides I can sleep with my wife... thats crazy.... and no visitors visa for her even though they no she has to go back to hand in her PPR ...when ever that comes...they change the time limit every 3 months... will be so glad when this bull @@@@ is over then we can live our life...hope it all goes fast for all of us....

I share your frustration.
An old schoolmate of my wife's sister immigrated here as a skilled worker then got her PR and sponsored her husband and children. Her family class application took 3 months from start to finish. That was 2011. CIC already have a file for PR's but have to create one for us citizens. Maybe processing spousal applications for PR's is easier since there is a prexisting file for the PR sponsor?

I think that's because in their case, they were a 'family' already with not much to dig into as far as MOC's go. In our cases, it's likely a very recent marriage... a lot more to be concerned over on the MOC front. Not to mention which VO abroad is in question.

Then that just highlights the prejudice they have towards mixed racial couples.

I am loathe to the idea that at the age of 47 I must require the government to second guess my personnal decisions. Their job is to make sure the requested documentation is legitimate and in order.

Scos, I didn't know you had a direct line to Rooster! Currently he has climbed everything in the yard, including the car, and is sleeping in the coconut tree. I'm glad you guys worked out an agreement. He would do pretty much anything for some rice.
yeah, he just showed up today and perched on the edge of my desk crowing until I added the new sheet. Then he took off... There is just no arguing with a rooster!

I find it annoying what with all the recent press of marriage fraud from the Havana VO that they are fast-tracking apps from there. My friend's brother-in-law just got his wife from Havana here in under 6 months! Meanwhile someone is complaining in the forum of yet another fraudulent marriage from there.

Meanwhile CEM will plod on, processing in apparent SA sequence even though the SA sequence itself was messed up in Mississauga. There is no pre-processing, no pre-assessment to try to fast-track simple apps. And it is starting to look like they decide to process whatever turns up on their desk that day. "Oh, someone called about this file? Ok, I'll work on this one today..."

I'm just surprised we haven't heard something like they have decided to roll Singapore into Manila and the new time is 3 months longer... (with no new staff of course)

Click the tab on the bottom of the spreadsheet labelled "Steph's Magic Rooster List". It has a subset of the spreadsheet of people awaiting stage 2 sorted in SA sequence.

It's not about weather you are a Canadian or PR only.. And it's not about your age and on how you decide. Visa office abroad assess every application on case to case basis weather the sponsor is Canadian or PR only. Yes you were right that Canadian must be the priority compare to PR..But come to think of it.. PR's family is a lot easy to decide on Fraud issue.. Many Filipino PR were married and have children back in the Philippines for years. They suffered many years to be apart with their family to give their family a good future. So don't question why PR's get their family faster, because they didn't question you why you marry a Filipina and not Canadian. VO Manila assess only the principal applicant and their dependents and majority of principal applicant is Filipina, so what's the difference? We are all here to help each other weather you are Canadian or PR only.

I agree but.. it's not any PR's business to question who I choose to marry anyways. We are allowed to discuss these things as citizens of our own country. I think the point is just discussion, none of us want to see unfair treatment. In our culture a big difference is that it's encouraged to discuss these things openly without it being perceived to be too confrontational. As Citizens we feel we should have certain rights, and that's okay. It's the same as you might feel if a Foreigner living in the Philippines would ask for the same democratic rights as you enjoy. Anyways, welcome to the forum! Nobody means to be insulting you here. I just think we're all here to discuss.

it just shows how human we are and i am included of course.... we all shout for fairness and justice if it involves our own interest,..... there is no need for us to be envy if other application is processed faster than ours as long as our application is still within the standard processing times.
this is just my opinion of course, and we are all entitled to our own opinion...

It's a funny thing about human nature. If somebody is treated a certain way that seems unfair, they think that everybody should be treated the same unfair way to make it evenly fair for everybody. Even if it means wishing bad luck on another. Imagine if after 2 years they fix the immigration system to be 3 months processing, will we be happy for others or cry unfair?
