Just had an idea that I'd like to share:

When sending emails to CEM for whatever reason....use the pdf snapshot tool to insert the bar codes for File# and UCI to email body, and also create a jpeg to attach.

I think it might make the retrieval of information a lot easier for the staff when responding to the email.

It depends... if the medical is done and not needed to be redone it looks like usually up to a month. (But tagnum looks like it is almost a year). Some VOs request the passport at the beginning, so they hold onto it longer.

If you look at the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtCLbbZupkY_dHJRT2R1alhXS2xaUzFTcHZsTUhVbHc#gid=0) you can see the date of the PPR request and the date when the VISA/COPR was received.

Thanks again. I am know our medical was done Aug 20th/Aug 21st 2013. I was there for her birthday, and we did it then. That was a long, long day of waiting in a hot building! I am just wondering if I will have her send them in if the request is after first week in June, because I have a surprise for her on our anniversary, June 27th, which will involve us needing her passport. It's a tough decision since I have spent $1200 already on the surprise, but I want her here also. If they request it in the next three weeks, I think we will risk it and if I lose my deposits then so be it. Having them here is more important.

Just once I would like to have my cake and eat it too!

Took this flight less than a month ago. I did NOT deplane in Vancouver and I most certainly DID clear customs in Toronto. There's NO way they would hold up a Boeing 777 with the customs clearance of all passengers hanging in the balance.

I thought this was important info so here it is again if anyone missed it, flight from manila vancouver to toronto with 1.5 hrs in vancouver

Hipmunk found me the ultimate flight! Royal Thai to Bangkok, then Zurich, then Toronto on Air Canada. 28 and a half hours, $11936 one way! Sure it takes a while but I imagine you must go in style all the way...

I think thats the kind of flight GORDANDMUGS would take, no need to fly economy

Quick question regarding purchasing airfares - is it cool to buy from whomever, and have your mate print them up on their side? Ie: I buy the tickets on Expedia, wifey prints them up at a internet cafe, and over they come? I mean no ones knows of any restriction or anything against buying tickets for someone in the Phils, do they?

May seem like a goofy question, but I have this little nagging voice in the back of my head that I read about this for some other countries, and can't remember for the life of me, where or what I read, (or even if I really did read it now) I think old age is rearing it ugly head at me

Well!!!! I don,t care what it cost when my wife gets Visa... expecting it this week... I,m flying here first class from Manila.... 1 week after she gets her visa.. we have waited to long to be together.... I,m not worried about the price to bring her home to Hamilton....I can,t believe it... first we *censored word*ed about waiting now alot are *censored word*ing about the price.... UNREAL!!!!

LOL. All things considered his application went very well compared to the rest of us. he applied 3 months after me and had both his sponsorship and his PPR before me. Some folks are just more prone to drama.

Meds were done in August. The booking would not be a issue. The only thing is am pretty sure she lost the phone, which was pay as you go. I don't think they have her new number. That's why I hope they mail her the request. I need to coordinate this with my kids Visa's. They are under the Canadian Citizenship process, and I need to book an appointment with Floor 6 to request visa's when my wife is approved. Has anyone booked an appointment with them yet? How do you do it without calling them?

THEY USUALLY SEND YOU A LETTER TO COME TO MANILA AND ARRANGE THIER PAASPORTS WITH THE CONSULAR, THEY WILL ISSUE A TEMPORARY CANADIAN PASSPORT FOR THEM THAT IS FOR 1 YEAR

What you can do is go to travel agent pay for the fare in your wife's name and get them to email you the ticket/confirmation and then forward the email to your wife to print out.

I don't know if you should use "re-manil". The email I got for PPR was FROM "re-manil", but the address they said to reply to in the email was just "manil".

Oh, and they really have updated the times now. As of April 24th the time for Manila is (drum roll please...)
