I don't see why CIC would play that against you ??? ??? if you have proof of your relationship, then that's all that matters, imo.

Anyway, about support system, yeah, I have a very good one. DH for one, but my friends are my family. I'm lucky to have a group of friends that I adore and whom I can always rely on. Leaving them and my professional life here are a real sacrifice, but my hubby and his family are worth it.

That's why I keep telling myself. We discussed the idea of me sponsoring him into the US but after weighing in the pros and cos, it makes more sense for me to move there. I can't wait to spend time with my new family :)

Hello all. I am still on the look out for those m and ms halfmoo... But my morning is a little brighter and Mr Malawi finally seems to get the point. Seems there was some miscommunication that caused havoc, still a work in progress but he has agreed to talking daily and keeping me in the loop. And not gonna lie he did say the right things.

As for support systems. My support is his family in the UK and Malawi. My family was burned by my ex and think i married the same kinda man. My friends are good to, but definitely appreciate all of you for your honesty, advice, laughs and just listening. You are all wonderful people and thank you.

Apologize for spelling or grammar errors as this site is blocked at work amd can only type so well on my phone!

Do what most women do when they don't have a problem: create one. :D

Ha! this sounds just like something my DH would say, although he would alternate between joke/serious on this one :-\

Truly though, this thread makes me more thankful of him. He calls all the time. One morning he texted me but my cellphone was turned off. He then called my land line, but I was in the bathtub, leaving a message (which I could hear while in the tub) saying "I texted you but your phone is turned off. Call me when you get a chance." A minute later the land line rings again, so muttering and grumbling I grab a towel and run to pick up the phone and say "WHAT?" Complete silence on other end. Then, haltingly, he said "Your cell is off, and you didn't pick up your land line. I was worried." So I asked "What would you have done if I didn't answer this time?" He said "I would have called the apartment office to break your door down." :o :o :o But then softened it by saying "I would have waited until 10 am" (it was about 9 am....and I think he only said that to placate me because, now I'm really worried about missing a phone call :-X )

But all in all, it does prove he loves me and cares about what happens here on my end. :-* :) sigh...

Am so glad our thread has enlightened you NicAnn. My husband is the same way. He'll chain call until he gets through to me. By the time I call him back, the hesitation in his voice communicates that he is concerned and simply needs to know that I'm alright. I recall when we were dating, he would ask that I at least texted him to let him know in advance of me being unavailable especially if I had to step into a meeting or I'd come back to 10 missed calls. Me being so independant found that it was not the most reasonable request as it felt like I was "reporting" into him however I did reassure him in other ways which has worked for the both of us. From the onset, he's always been the caller so I haven't had many issues in this area plus I consider myself to be really good at holding out on the things I really want in order to feel satisfied. Everyone has a different way of handling things however just be sure you're comfortable and can live happily with it.

Sometimes it's not even our partners that is the problem, it's how we allow them to treat us or get away with when they try push the envelope.

When it comes to relationships, my mantra is: When I love and respect myself first, it sets the precedence for how my husband will treat me.

If only that actually worked. Sigh.

It was me, I admit it.

I made fries with cheese and beef today instead of nachos. Monday night football = excuse to eat horribly.

Waking up = excuse to eat horribly.

I hate waking up :(
