can I get few tips/advices on how to exchange my driver license ?

I already got the driver license record request. (its just one paper saying the date I got my driver license and few other things...)

its just that paper I need to give it to MTO ? ( I exchanging my California's DL into Ontario DL)

I mean which form should I fill out for exchanging DL ?

I am just preparing myself for these things as in a month or two I will be in CA as I am just waiting for my COPR

any links related to my question...

Thanks in advance.. :)
There's no form, you walk into DriveTest and they will test your eyes and you pay $75 and there ya go. MAKE SURE, that the letter (driver's record) shows more than 3 years. We had a runaround with that because Tony's only showed 2 years ::)

You need your driver's record if you have been driving longer. Tony's DL only showed 2 years, we had to get a letter.

Simb, have you been driving longer than 3 years? If so, you need to get a letter stating that you have. If you haven't been driving more than 3 years but more than 2, you will be a G2 driver. Less than 2 years and you're a G1 driver. The problem with G1 is you cannot drive without someone who has a G for 5 years beside you. The other problem with G1 OR G2 is insurance is much higher. Ours was 250 a month. Now it's 180, but it will be going back up since I was just in an accident.

I forgot, if you have a car and insurance on it, a letter from them will be needed to get insurance if you plan on getting a car or importing one :)

The G2 test is really nothing. You can have your G1 test then go for the G2 in 6 (or 12) months. They want to make sure you know how to turn right, turn left, use a turn signal, park properly and check your mirrors.

I'm hearing impaired, VERY hearing impaired. And I passed. If you get a bad feeling when you walk in and talk to them, you can walk out and go to another one. A friend of mine, who is mexican, got a REALLY bad feeling at one of them and failed there. But went to another drivetest, and passed with flying colours. I think you will be fine! :)

I stand corrected by hubby. It's over three years, and eye test, G. Under three years, over a year plus eye test, G2. Under a year, G1. Not sure if you'd have to do the written test for the G1 or not though.

Yes the website says different

I asked the question related to my situation making a new thread.
and One person said they got G2 when they exchanged their 6months old license

I would go in there and see what they give me exchanging mine.. then I can tell you do they go by whats written on website or something else...

Crazy MTO !

This is just what was said to him at DriveTest. Next time I'm in town (I live in the boonies) I will go in and ask myself.
