I think I'm going to clean my entire house this weekend. Even the parts that don't need cleaning. Gotta pass the time somehow.

Dollar Store toothbrushes will make it slower.

If I get a dozen of those, that should get me through the next couple of lifetimes.

If they don't break first :P

I've had one since I moved here to clean behind faucets. (I'm super clean...had a bad experience growing up.)

It's so cheap, the handle bends and flexes to get into the crevices but doesn't break. It's sooooo awesome :D

The funny thing is, you could probably find the same thing sold as a tool for cleaning tight spaces for $10 at a department store ;D

Exactly. This is why I shop the dollar stores and Liquidation World first. LW is by my house.

I got very familiar with dollar stores and liquidation stores like Big Lots and Ollie's Outlet years ago when I was out of work and broke. Now I get funny looks cause I still shop at them, but why would I want to pay more than I have to? Especially Ollie's, I've gotten brand name protein powder there for half price because the company was changing the labels :D

LW is currently clearing out Zeller's stuff. They have Faberware items there for half price. I got some of those super nice, silicone coated (tips and grips) for $2. I pay full price for nothing. You'd be hard pressed to find someone cheaper than me.

My husband has many times tried to convince me to buy a car. He's even found cheap ones (cougholdonescough), taken me to see them, and everything. I refuse. I have transit. What do I need a car for?

For anyone that likes/loves coupons (good to use in Canada!), visit http://www.extremecouponingmom.ca/web/ or like the page on facebook. Lots of great coupons!

Better hope you NEVER move to the boonies! :P

Sounds like my wife, the apartment she shares with her sister is so well located she can walk everywhere she needs to go so she doesn't drive. As I've told though she should get her license because there's no guarantee we'll get a place that good. BTW, there's nothing wrong with an older car if it's been well maintained, I drive a 2002 model, the previous owner kept it immaculate and I have it in regularly for its maintenance. Looks and runs like new :)

I grew up in the boonies.

Need for a car is situational. I live between two major roads and seven blocks from a mall. There's stores everywhere. If I had money to shop, it would be paradise! Haha.

Yay, old cars! I drive a '99 model that I bought for $1,200. It's in wonderful condition, no rust, no accidents, low odometer reading, etc. I'm a big fan of well-maintained, older cars and if I can help it, I probably will stick to older cars.

I forced myself to get a licence a few years ago because even if I'm within walking distance, if I can't carry all of the household groceries by myself, I'm going to need a car.

- to be able to travel in comfort, peace, and quiet

- to be able to get to your destination in 10 minutes, rather than 49 minutes by bus/train/street car

- because you'll be spending the same amount on hand sanitizer every month as you would spend on car insurance

- so that you don't have to witness first-hand the rapid straight-to-hell descent of today's youth who seem to think that a pregnant woman or an 87-year-old senior shouldn't sit down if there are no empty seats

- to not have to stand out in the wind/rain/snow/sleet/hail/heat waiting for your bus

- so that you don't catch some nasty virus every second week when some momo doesn't seem to understand that he/she shouldn't spray their sneezes from the back to the front of the bus

- to not have to worry about inhaling the wafting unpleasant odors of people who don't appreciate the value of a daily shower

- to not have to worry about inhaling the wafting and frighteningly putrid odors of people who don't appreciate the value of a weekly shower

- so that the majority of your prayers to god don't consist of, "Oh please...I beg you...I'll do anything you ask of me, just please don't let him fart", every time you see the dreadful sight of a man with no neck (whose backfat outweighs your entire body) boarding the bus and inching his way closer and closer to you with every wheeze

I use hand sanitizer for nothing. It's one of the biggest problems, contributing to making germs more resistant. I keep my ears clean, drink my tea, and I'm rarely sick (besides my asthma, which isn't germ related).

I find the majority of transit rides to be relaxing. There's no stress about driving, dealing with traffic, bad weather. I can zone out, have a mental break, and I really enjoy it. I also prefer to take the bus over the train, because in Calgary at least, you act stupid, the drivers boot you. :D I even had a driver tell some kids to stop cursing or she'd kick them off! Hehehehe.
