What are your 'red flag' concerns? If you don't mind discussing....
Well mr m was deported from the uk while going to school. He also comes from a very low income country, and im not sure how my previous marriage will be viewed.

The good news would be that if you addressed these items of concern "head on" and openly in your application, it minimizes the VO feeling that you are hiding something. Their jobs are to examine and make decisions based on the evidence within your application however if you've presented your file in an open and honest manner, it will work positively for both you and hubbie.

I would recommend obtaining the GCMS notes by 6 months after the file has been transferred to the overseas office if you haven't heard anything from them.

Would mind me asking how short? Did you spend time prior to getting married? (If you didn't, that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be a positive outcome). I'm just curious.

And i made sure we were honest about everything... And open about all of the potential red flags and explained all our proof. But time will tell... I will keep you postedif they were or not. But just a feeling for now.

Do many applicants get convoked for interviews from your visa office?

:p Enjoy your shower!

Are your hubbies good at giving gifts? Mine is terrible :-X He didn't receive gifts when he was a child so he doesn't understand the concept. He told me he always looks for things for me but he is scared I won't like them. I have told him so many times I will love it just because it comes from him. He still doesn't get it. I'm starting to think that I just need to get used to the idea he shows his love other ways, but I loooooooooove giving gifts, it's the way how I show anybody my love (family, friends, my hubby).
So what are your thoughts? Am I crazy? :-X
*two pages later*

My husband grew up similar to how your husband did. He never received gifts as a child and his birthday was never celebrated (etc, etc). He's really terrible at RECEIVING gifts, but wants so badly to give me gifts. I'm not so great at receiving gifts (I grew up getting presents with strings attached), so I'm bad at dropping hints as to what I want. He and I have been working on it together. He doesn't trust his taste in gifting at all so he never buys me gifts, and I love giving gifts! So there's an imbalance, ha ha ha. We've talked about it; every time he wants to get me something, he asks me what I want (and my face goes like ???). I think it was Halfmoon who suggested you communicate your expectations to your husband. It's not an unreasonable desire to want to see a tangible object showing that your husband was thinking of you.

No ask away... Pretty open book over here. It was probably a month and a half, and we have talked everyday or at least every other day since then. We wanted to register and be committed to each other before i flew back, and we went traveling together. So ya.. quick decision on the marriage end, but we didnt talk about immigration and Canada until aftwr our first anniversary, i wanted to find something over there, just didnt pan out :( and i wanted to be with my husband.

No idea. The few i have talked to as the pretoria thread is pretty dead, have nt had interviews. But who knows.

And thanks Lunas, im hoping your right. But trying to be positive and realistic as this process goes! I think the 27 month waiting time is the first hurdle to swallow!

Good luck! :( It's tough being apart for so long. I think the only "real" red flag is the length of your relationship before you got married, which would probably make CIC scrutinize the other circumstances in your application a little more. It's such a crap shoot with the visa officer. Frustrating.

Ya, not quite the same experience as most have described. But we will see. When it gets transferred here's hoping for a decent VO to review our application! If not im.gonna be requesting that beetlejuice from.earlier be sent their way! :D
