Is it mailed to your using regular USPS mail, or the prepaid envelope you provided? Is your tracking showing up??

Thanks!

No i didn't send a return envelope with it, am in Canada and they do not require us to send return envelopes with it, so hope its arriving some time this week.

congrats!!

But, I have a question. Why is it that some applicants are required to submit their passports, while others are not? - for instance, all they wanted was for me to e-mail a scanned image of my passport to them.

I'm not sure if anyone but the VO can answer that. They have been all over the place with that.

I am new and signed up as I seem to have a bit of a problem. LA received my passport on Feb 4 and I saw on Feb 26th that my ECAS status had changed to DM. However, still no passport. We upped and moved from US to Can about 6 months ago and ECAS shows my updated address. I contacted LA via email and the web form a few days ago but no reply yet. Also emailed CPP-O yesterday but same result. My US apt building mgr checked the mailroom about 10 days ago but nothing. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice on trying to get through to LA? or on how to track potentially lost mail.

Timeline: applied 28-05-12; PPR from Ottawa 28-01-13; DM 26-02-13; Waiting for passport

Thank you!

If it's coming to Canada, it will take a while, up to a month. This is due to customs, they tend to hold things up quite a bit.

Thank you for the quick reply. It's just that I have heard of people getting back their passports within 10-14 days of DM. I will try to sit tight for a few more days, I guess.

That's within the USA. We got ours back (within the us) in 10 days. Whereas a friend of mine, it took about a month to 2 months before they got theirs, in Canada (she was sponsoring her american husband)

I've been told that there are only two clearance facilities - Montreal and Vancouver (I walk by the Vancouver facility routinely). I've found that mail to/from the US west coast is fast to Vancouver but mail to/from the US east cost is slow to Vancouver - and definitely with high variability. I have a regular mailing from the eastern US every Thursday and I've seen it show up as quickly as four days and as long as 2.5 weeks - sometimes I receive mailings on the same day that were sent a week apart.

Yeah the Montreal one takes it's time. They were the ones that "lost" my husband's passport that was SUPPOSED to be registered mail (it was, but they didn't treat it like it was)

Thank you both for your responses. My worry was due to the fact that someone I know in Ontario got their passport and docs back in ten days from LA and someone else in about 14 days. I am beginning to see that these two instances may be exceptions rather than the rule. Fingers crossed.

I feel like waiting for my CoPR is taking ages. I got the DM on saturday and still waiting for the mail. I sent them a Priority mail envelope that if they sent it back to me in that should have been here by now. Here is to hoping I get it by next Weds so I can be with my wife for Easter

Edit: No luck today and LA refuses to email me back. Wish I got lucky and got my PPr from Ottawa.

Best of luck - hope it comes in the next couple of days.
