I was perusing the latest Open Data Project information.

CPP-O showed processing times for spousal sponsored cases in the past 12 months (fair warning: 75 total cases)

4 months for 20%
7 months for 50%
12 months for 80%

Buffalo (before closure, 2110 cases):

6 months for 20%
8 months for 50%
12 months for 80%

LA (through 30 June 2012, 220 total cases)

6 months for 20%
8 months for 50%
12 months for 80%

(same as Buffalo)

Detroit was the same as well (195 cases)

Seattle was faster:

5 months for 20%
6 months for 50%
9 months for 80%

271 cases

NYC was almost the same:

6 months for 20%
8 months for 50%
11 months for 80%

224 cases

FYI, from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012, CIC processed 41,458 spousal cases, 34,378 of which were Outland.

Oh I heartily agree and I'm in the enviable situation of waiting for LA to return my passport - but even now, I find myself checking e-cas and the return shipping label online every day... and I know it's not going to update over a holiday weekend.

Hopefully they get back on track soon. Hubby just got word his great-grandmother is not doing well.

I'd like to say "all in good time" but that isnt working for me anymore. ??? All we can do is wait and be patient

Parker I'm sorry to hear about your hubby's great- grandmother. It would be nice if they would take things like that into consideration. I'll be thinking about her :(

VERY SOON
I went home to Florida for a week with the hope that when I come back I might hear some good news. Nothing yet :( I am worried what is taking so long with my medicals if I had completed them last November so they will be expiring soon. I dont get it!!! I hope we all hear some great news. I hope everyone in Canada had a great Thanksgiving. Since I was in FL for the Canadian thanksgiving I decided my husband and I will celebrate the American Thanksgiving in November :)

This worries me. Did you submit FBI papers in the first place? Any ideas as to why they would be rejected? Did you use a channeller? I submitted the check from a channeller, and I am wondering if I should request the prints from the FBI in case my current check is rejected.
No, I used a channeller. Order one from the FBI now and send it in before they ask for it :)

I'm not sure why CIC does this sort of thing - they send out these harsh demands that aren't actually enforced. All you need to do is advise them you've requested the FBI, that it can take up to 16 weeks to obtain and as soon as you have it, you will forward it to them.

Even if you didn't send it to them, all that would happen at the end of 60 days is they would send you another sternly worded letter. EVENTUALLY if you don't respond they will close out your file, but you will have warning.

Try not to lose sleep over the artificial deadline.
I'm not. I had actually sent away for a new FBI report a week and a half before I got the email bc I suspected that would happen (used a channeller). I'm just gonna be optimistic and hope that because it was 60 days means that they're trying to quickly get through my app :)

Hubby and I have decided that I'm definitely going for a study permit, because we can't handle the distance anymore. We actually could, but we don't want to :)

Hi everyone,

I'm glad to join this forum and see so much good news come out of the Los Angeles P.O (Congrats to you, Manispreet!) I just have a question that might have been addressed earlier, but sometimes they're hard to track. My current time line for sponsoring my husband is

App Filed: Feb. 27th 2012
Sponsorship Approval & File Transfer: June 7th
Medical Done: July 2011

Our file was originally sent to CPP Ottawa, is it worth emailing to ask if it WAS transferred to L.A or is there a way to find out otherwise? Also, I keep finding contradicting answers to this but is the application processing time from the file date or from the file transfer date?

Thanks!

I would suggest if you can ask your local MP's office to contact concerned VO and give you with the latest status. Our MP's office was really quick and I got latest status within 2 days.
