I agree, they might not be realistic times. Im just really concerned they are. As noted above they are hoping for an exact 1 year turn around for all checks. But thats even before the start passport requests etc….. So i'm guessing, and this is just a guess, add another 6 months max so 18 months in total + to time at CIC in canada and we are getting towards the 2 year mark.

Which in my opinion is not good enough considering that some people who applied in May have already got visas and could be on there way to Canada.

I just don't want to hope, I want to try and do something about this.

I understand these anxious moments. A friend of mine got his medical request/visa issued within 3 weeks from LVO. He applied in 2011 although there was some delay in processing his application for medical reasons. LVO could pull surprises.

Tashford,

How do you see the impact of building moving on the processing time?

Obviously they have to physically move every single file from the large building in Grosvenor Square to another smaller building. Not only will the fact of moving EVERY single file take time but also the moving to a smaller building that is already in use is going to considerably disrupt the processing on applications. Whenever people move somewhere there always a period where nothing is running as smoothly as it could, let alone seamlessly.

I just feel that this is another large hiccup for the people being processed thorough London and another thing that could really lengthen or delay the processing time. Something positive would be nice for a change.

Any body got any ideas other than contacting the minister via twitter and emailing that could help our case.

I emailed the Minister 10 working days ago and heard nothing yet. Although it says I should receive a reply within 10-30 but I'm hoping sooner rather than later as 30 days takes us into Xmas and I won't have a reply over then.

I also tweeted but no response to that either. Anyone else having any luck?

I just had a thought, is anyone using David Cohen for their application? If so, as he his a lawyer would it be worth contacting him to see what his ideas are about lvo timeline and can he do anything on your behalf? I'm sure if CIC see an immigration lawyer is getting involved it would be taken more seriously.

A bit of news from a member in the main forum. Looks like something may start to happen (or be postponed) within January for many:

Okay so here goes, and I better get a lot of +1 for this:

Application was received on 23 May 2013.

Application was created (PER issued) on 7 August 2013.

1. GCMS Notes indicate that my file has been assigned to an officer at the London Visa Office (LVO).

2. The date date for the assignment to the officer is 31 January 2014. This is when I think the file processing is due to begin.

3. There are three subsequent background checks. (i) Security, (ii) Criminality and (iii) Medical.

4. The due date for completion of all three checks is 7 August 2014. That is exactly ONE YEAR from the date the PER was issued.

So let's keep that in mind. One year from the PER was issued, the LVO must complete all background checks and then move on to issuing visas.

Good luck.

The comparison we can make is with jigzyy:

So, there are 35 pages... and the final result is.. LVO haven't touched it Cry. Which means, 2013 is not their priority (at least 10 days before when GCMS notes were generated).

Here are other findings:
Ministerial Instructions: Met

Assessments:
Eligibility: Not Started - Looks like Local Visa Office haven't re-calculated points.
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Not Started

Last Due Date: 2013/09/28

Points:
Scored 67 Angry. Did not considered Adaptability points for Relative in Canada ( provided documented proof ) + haven't considered Academic IELTS of Spouse. Two Visa Officers assessed the application and both calculated 67 points.

Due Date: 2014/07/09 (My PER date in 2013)

Experience still need to be verified, that section is empty.
Selection, Security, Criminality, Background & Medicals are Pending.

Since arrival (2013/07/22) at LVO, file has been transferred 3 times from one location to another Undecided

Anyway, all in all, nothing useful came out of it.

EDIT: I was not able to find Bring Forward Date, so I am considering Due Date is that date for now. Because if it's true, that means, I / We are not going to hear anything for 1 year from LVO. Lips sealed

Well at least we are hearing something. But I can't imagine we are going to get our visas in a speedy way, unlike other visa offices which as stated have processed visas within 6 months.

Has anybody else applied for their GCMS, if so please keep is informed of the result on here.

Thank You
Hello Tashford & all fellow LVO applicants,

Would like to ask here related to Ahab's GCMS notes.

"2. The date date for the assignment to the officer is 31 January 2014. This is when I think the file processing is due to begin." does that mean they not going to start his file before Jan 2014 or this is the last date for the office to start working, this can be in progress even in Dec also ?

If the officer start working on his file by Jan so that means they have time until Auguest to complete all the security, BG checks then followed by MR and PPR or by August they have to complete every thing till visa stamping.

I think the January 31st 2014 date has been set for the visa officer to start processing his application. The final completion date is 7th of August 2014 for BG check, security, medical and visa. This date cannot be exceeded. This is not to say that processing can't be concluded before the set dates. It depends on the visa officer.

Thanks Hila01, our time lines almost matching. I was thinking to apply for GCMS is it worth or not, as we have seen Jizzy's and Ahab's GCMS already.
Think so early may applicants will not hear from LVO till Jan 2014, what do you say ?

Hi. If u want to apply for your GCMS note, I see nothing wrong in it. It will give u the opportunity to have an idea of timeline regarding your application. I strongly feel that early may applicants from LVO would start to see some fireworks from December into January 2014.

Thanks Hila01, Insha Allah we will hear some thing very soon from LVO. I'll wait till December which is just around the corner to order the GCMS.
