Wow!!! Congratulations for the approval. That's unbelievably fast for a low wage position.
My application is for BC as well and I'm currently in the 25th week...

Hello everyone,

Need some help here ??? ???

1. About the advertisment, my company have posted ad on Job Bank, Indeed, Kijiji and Craigslist. Does anyone know if Kijiji and Craigslist are acceptable website?

2. How many candidates need to be interviewed? If my employer doesn't want to schedule any interview could we just skip it...?

Any reply will be appreciated!

1. I've seen cases that people had problems with Kijiji and Craigslist as they are not job specific websites. My suggestion is to choose any other website specific for jobs. I've seen people choosing Career Owl or All Start Jobs (I don't know how good they are). Workopolis or Monster are definitely good options, but they are paid.

2. From what I know, there isn't any requirement regarding the number of interviewed candidates. I believe that your employer should interview at least 1 or 2. My employer interviewed 4. If your employer doesn't interview anyone, it will seem that he is not really trying to find a Canadian.

Hi Funbox,

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I was wondering if you could tell me how many resumes you received?

Thank you very much again

Hello all,

I have couple questions, if any body has experience please share your insights.

I work on PGWP in Ontario as Software Developer(2174) since more than year. I get paid around 25$/hour. I just need LMIA to support my permanent residency.
Still, we cant apply software developer LMIA because the median wage is 36$ where I work (as per job bank wages) and my employer can not pay that wage amount.

So, we are planning to post job as web developer (2175) which has 28$/hour wage as per job bank and all the work I do is related to that field.

Q1. Will this be any sort of problem in LMIA process?

Q2. When should my employer start paying me median wage? For example. Right now, After LMIA get approved, or after I get my PR

Q3. This question is about, after I get positive LMIA. When applying for PR. Will software developer experience work? Because at that time. I will have LMIA for different web developer (if my web developer LMIA get approved :)).

I reviewed the application files and we added a list of 70 candidates.
- Candidate names were not mentioned (they ask to not mention).
- For 62 of them we are just saying that they did not meed the minimum requirements.
- 8 of them were potential candidates so there is a better explanation why they were not hired.
- 3 were interviewed in the office and 5 were interviewed by phone.

Note: We actually got around 130 resumes, but we just declared 70. You know, people see a job posting and apply without even read the requirements. So most of the resumes were totally irrelevant for the position.

1. Yes. This will be a problem. According to ESDC website:
Employers applying for a labour market impact assessment (LMIA) must pay the temporary foreign worker (TFW) at a minimum, the posted prevailing wage for the occupation and work location where the foreign worker will be employed.
Employers offering a wage that is below the prevailing wage rate will be considered as not meeting the labour market factor for the assessment of wages and therefore, will be issued a negative LMIA.
Note: You also have to offer the prevailing wage in your advertisements.

2. Once the LMIA is approved and you get a work permit (not your PR) under this LMIA, your employer will have to start paying you the new wage. Unless you are already have a work permit and is working under this work permit that has nothing to do with a LMIA.

3. I'm not sure if I understood this question, but I think your experience will be valid. The LMIA itself will give you 600 points which I believe that is enough to be selected.
