YES, I submit pr and owp together.

You should call them.

@sarah cunanan they haven't update the date yet its still september 14, 2011 hopeFully they are gonna update this week i guess we who has dependants won't recieve anything unless they update it

jean1982.................I think the reason they ask you to restore your status is because you would only be under implied status if you were still working with your employer on your work permit even though it expired. I think because the permit expired and your no longer work for that person you would need to have a new documents to maintain your status. Implied status only apply when your with the same employer not when you are unemployed.

Just curious as to why it cost $350.

@shellonn oh yeah.. sorry about that. time flies so fast. i don't even know what date it is.. sorry everyone

@cardclaw that's the thing.. restoration fee is 200. its more to me that its a restoration and application fee of a work permit. (200+150)

I dont think so. you can choose not to work when you put in your application for PR. that wont still change the fact that you are under iimplied status.
I stand to be corrected.

I think so, but My work permit wasn't expired when I applied pr and owp. Now it's hard to get another job.

How come that they send you a letter? Try to call the immigration and ask about your status, bec you are implied status.
I call CIC today and they told me my file is not made decision yet and I have to wait.

did u ask them why you have to apply for restoration inspite that your on iimplied status.

as what i understood, Implied status allows you to stay in canada even if your work permit is expired and your unemployed. But if your still employed in the employer stated in the expîred work permit you are still allowed to work untill a decision has been made in your APPLICATION.

@shelleonn thanks for letting me know. i don't like how they do it. it's pissing me off. that's the update??
i am single applicant but that doesn't matter when you ask the cic. the agent will just tell us the same information. as in really.. why will i call if i can see that information on the web?
i really think this is all is a scam. that's why i'm not too stoke that they are releasing owp to few.
they will just give few owp. mostly the once that are easy. (single applicants and one employer) then will screw the rest of us. such a crap!
