Let's share timeline, PGWP March applicant

Hey guys,

I know it might be early for me since I only see May, June and July applicants getting approved.
By any chance, anyone that applied in September get anything?
I applied Sept 23rd so just wondering. Since I also had to apply for restoration along with PGWP I can not even work under implied status and it is really frustrating. I'm running out of money. How will I support myself!

I applied July 31 for a closed work permit. I was a student when I got the LMIA based job and in order to get the 600 points I applied for a closed work permit. Even though I am eligible to apply for a PGWP now, I cannot apply as my employer says they have to inform CIC if they want to hire me on a PGWP and I'll lose my 600 points. I guess what I am trying to say is that I understand your frustration. I am also running out my money, and I only have rent for December. To make matters worse, my employer says they will only wait for me until the end of December and if I don't get my permit, they will try to find someone else. Hope I get it soon, otherwise I will be in serious trouble.

I recently received my PGWP, My study permit had expired on 31st July before that I had to leave the country for some emergency; however, I came back on a visitor visa because PGWP was taking so long and I still had my apartment etc.
Now I am on a visitor visa and also my pgwp has been approved. Can I still send in my passport without issues? PLEASE REPLY

I can totally understand your frustration. I am in the same boat as you but I applied for restoration of status and PGWP on Nov 2. I had initially applied for the work permit extension on June 26th(issued until the passport expiry date so had to get the passport renewed and apply for the work permit extension but I got a refusal letter on Oct 28th because of the additional $100 fee. Have you tried calling CIC they are now looking at applications received on july 12th?? And if you don't mind me asking was your work permit also denied because of the $100 and what documents did you send when you applied for restoration of status. Hope you get your work permit soon. Good luck

Yes, that is a 'Blank Update'. Very common.

Contact Michel Rempel's office (google their #). They helped me and some other guys on this forum, and we all got our permit within 10 days of asking them.

What area are you in? For sure the contact info is now updated on the parliament site. If your area's MP recently changed, try the MP of an area near you and they will direct you to who can help with your riding. No way you gotta wait till Feb, that's just insane.

and finally I found some mp near the area but their secretary said there is nothing they can do for it because of the election the mp doesn't set up his/her new office right now, basically you can say he/she is not working till December.
