Hi valsanail,valsanail said:Dear Zanny,
I saw in your post that your funds were mainly located on your spouse's account. Looks like I am also in the same situation! Please could you advise something to solve my issues?
The matter is this. All our savings are on spouse's account, and the bank refuses to make a joint account for us (they do not have such policy in my country). The only thing they have suggested is to make an authorization letter from her to me, giving me the full rights to use the funds. However, now we are very suspicious whether it will work this way. Will this be sufficient, or may be we'd rather transfer the money to my account? Meanwhile, I had an account at the same bank few years ago, later it was closed, but they told if I wish to create a new account, they will reopen the old one, however there won't be any history in the 6-months back statements. So, Please advise something, seems you are the only member here who has been in the same boat... :-X
P.s. the statement of spouse's account shows that money have been transferred to her from her parents as 'fin.support'. Is there anything to do with that? In case if they consider that there is not enough information, will they require further evident documents, or this is direct refusal?
The best thing to do now will to transfer everything in your account, get a gift deed on a stamp paper signed by your spouse clearly stating that this money was transferred out of love and affection for the immigration purpose and that she will not ask for this money back.
Regarding money being transferred from your in-laws into your spouse's account - if the tnx is more than 6 months old, don't worry. However if the tnx is recent, get a similar gift deed from them also.
Along with this, you must cover the PoF document with a cover page - stating details of your funds, source of it, and put account statements, gift deeds as annexures
Hope this helps. Do let me know if you need more clarity
