Hi everyone!

I am just curious. I FINALLY got my landing date this coming Wednesday. (ugh.. after 2 months of waiting.)
I am so excited! So excited that I forgot about my sponsor's situation.LOL
Problem is my hubby got laid off exactly a month ago, which is unfortunate. (Company wasn't doing well.)
He was given a severance package but applied for EI right away just in case he still didn't get a job yet after it run out.
Anyways just received first pay from EI on Tuesday. My hubby is almost a professional engineer, (his application is currently in process.)
We thought he would've gotten a job by now but most of the postings aren't calling for interviews until the end of August.
We have quite a good amount of money saved up in the bank cause we were both working and no kids yet.
I know that EI is not a social/government assistance so it should be ok.

My question is will the officer question this? Like how will he support me without a current job?
or will this not affect anything at all and I am just crazy?
or are they done evaluating that part and it doesn't matter anymore?
bring bank statements, just in case?

Let me know what you guys think.

This won't affect anything. You're worrying for no reason.

I assume you already have your COPR and the next step is landing.

They are done evaluating/processing your application. You are fine. The only question they will ask you is in regards to your stuff you are bringing in with you and importing to Canada.

I am already in Canada. I don't have the COPR yet because it is an inland spousal application.
The last appointment with the local CIC is the determining appointment, where they will give me my copr and "land". (It's just the way inland works.)
That's why I am worried. I have been told that they only want the sponsor there to re-assure the undertaking? Is this true?
Are they gonna ask him what he is currently doing for work?(Income)

Hopefully someone here knows what the procedures are for local cic office landing.
Thank you so much.

Don't stress over it. They have already approved your application and you are now going to land. Do try to remember, that how much money he makes is not important. I am 99.9% positive that Unemployment Insurance does NOT qualify as social assistance.

You passed the test. You can see the finish line. Who cares if your hair is a bit mussed for the photo finish! :D
