kitchener Citizenship processing times!

Hi all,
I live in Guelph and I applied for my Canadian citizenship on July 2011. I got the acknowledgement letter on October 2011 and still waiting for the test letter. I checked my status online and it states "Received". How long does it take till I make the test?

My time line:

Applied : Feb 2010
AOR & Discover Canada Book : July 2010
Test Date : March 19th 2011
Invitation Letter for Oath : March 24th 2011
Oath & Citizenship Day : April 2011


I know people who got their oath invitation letters in four days after sitting for their written test and others i know who got it after two months and worst cases six to eight months!

If you were not asked to fill up the RQ, then just sit and relax....

Thanks for your response. I believe things are getting more slower nowadays...it has been almost 10 months since I submitted my application and its status is still "Received" They didn't even start processing! I would like to see if someone applied around the same time (last August) at Kitchener and has any news!

Thanks everyone for your response! I called CIC and they said I should expect to hear about the test by August 2012. Also, the file will be transferred to Kitchener around that time! They mentioned something about a background check?! Is this normal with every applicant?! It seems that the file is to be processed before being transferred or what?!

Any applicants at Kitchener after August 2011?!

Now "In Process" I just wanted to make an update. How long does it take from starting processing my file till getting it transferred to the office?! And how long does it take till I take the TEST?! Thanks for everyone's feedback and update!

After getting canadian citizenship, can we apply right away for passport or wait for sometimes?

Why your application took too long ? Did u go for test yet?

I don't think the waiting time is very long..
CIC is very slow recently... It is normal if one case has been completed within 19 months
