One of the lucky few, that's a good thing takes some stress off this antagonizing process.

I know right!! I totally understand why they scrutinize but honestly sometimes the people they should be looking at they don't and it antagonizes me to the fullest.

No update for me either. Im just over this whole process n just waiting until July 27 gets here

Hi susanrichards2015,

Yes, he got 10 years. So thankfully that has kept us going while his PR application is in-process. I've been reading your messages in this thread, I totally understand the stress of CIC since I migrated to Toronto as a student, then did my own PR application and now my husband's in-process of sponsorship.

Many best wishes to everyone here.

Congrats!! You guys were one of the lucky few.

Good night y'all ....I am a newbie to this group and already have learned so much by just reading!.....so my hubby and I just got married March 29, 2016 and I put our application in May 16, 2016..... I know I am no where close yet but you can't help not being anxious lol :P.......I would love to change over my last name but is worried it may mess up my application process..... Has anyone done so while their papers were in process?

I am personally waiting till after all the papers are through just so it doesn't complicate things more than they have to be. Also welcome to the Kingston thread.

Welcome! I changed my name over right away and have had no problems so far. You are married, so I can't see why it would be an issue. He's coming here, not you. He's the applicant so I don't see an issue. But if your not comfortable, I'd say wait :)

I changed my name right before I sent my papers in and was a bit worried because the application was already done and signed in my maiden name. I did call them to inquire if that was gonna be a problem and the rep so no. After i sent the paper work in n they got it February, i sent them a webform email letting them know again that my name was changed to my husbands name. They didn't changed anything on my file because when i log in to check my file online, I log in using my maiden name

No update for me ether ugh!!!! Today marks 9 months our application has been in, and it's also my husbands birthday today.... I'm so hoping for a call in the next month for PPR! No request for any additional info as yet or for interview.... Getting more impatient by the day.

I have a feeling some good news is gonna come our way today (fingers cross)

Welcome! :)
I changed my name a few months into the process and have had no issues.
I made sure to let them know in my medical extension request email just in case. Personally, I think a name change is a big addition to the "proof" they need of a real genuine relationship. As why change your name if the marriage isn't real??
