I'm wondering if someone can help me. I am trying to pay my fees online, however, there is something that I do not understand and I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I'm doing spousal sponsorship for my hubby in Jamaica, and his two children.
I called the CIC call centre and they would not help me, they were trying to direct me to various webpages and forms which I have already read :'( And when I told them I have read all information available online and in the guides, but I just have one simple question - "what is a transitional provision?", he told me they do not offer consulting services! How frustrating.
I just need some clarification, please!
The issue is this: I need to include 2 children, which I know is $150 per child. However, there are two options that are EXACTLY the same except for the phrase "Fee subject to a transitional provision" - what does that mean?
A family member of the principal applicant who is under 19 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner or A family member of the principle applicant who is 19 years of age or older who has been unable to be financially self-supporting since before the age of 19 due to a physical or mental condition $150.00
Fee subject to a transitional provision - Family member of the principal applicant who is under 22 years of age, unmarried and not in a common-law relationship OR is 22 years of age or older who is unable to be financially self-supporting due to physical or mental condition $150.00
