Ahh that's right! We're just waiting on the return of the passport now! The wait is brutal!

I have not gotten PPR as yet, hence i'm wondering if my 23 year old son being on the application as well will make the processing longer.

Can anyone pls advise me on here because I am so mad and confused.

I am grateful to be at this stage in the process. God knows I waited long for this and there are people who have been waiting even longer but sending off this package to POS is proving to be a nightmare.

I called fedex and I am getting conflicting information about the prepaid envelope/airway bill. One rep said I cant get this service done from out of Jamaica and the other is saying its a draft that is done up in fedex name that will be sent in the package. Dhl don't do prepaid service either, so I am not sure what to do.

my husband went to a fedex store in Mandeville and they are telling him crap , while a rep on the phone is saying its 9,000 for the prepaid. I don't care what the price is , I just want a damm prepaid envelope and they telling me I cant pre pay it unless we have a fedex account. Is it and actual envelope that you get with a shipping label on it or what? I have no experience with this stuff and I don't want the nightmare that mrs P is going through with dhl.

HELP!!! This is so frustrating and abit unfair as it would have been so much easier to send the package inside Jamaica.

Great that's what I have to look forward too.. Cuz we were planning on using FedEx...
Thank u everyone so excited.. I've ha bad nerves since Thursday.. Was not expecting it today!!! Our file went in process nov 20 day of the interview... And now today got the email :)

Congrats Stacy on the passport request.
Yes, the prepaid envelope / airway bill is a headache, hence I don't know why POS would request that service especially from Jamaica. I know they don't want to foot the courier bill but just wish it was been sent back to Kingston as it would be less headache. if you get any updated info from fedex, pls let me know cuz I just don't know what my next move is yet regarding this courier mess.

wonder if I should email POS and ask for other options........ >:(

everything is just bittersweet with this immigration process.

dlmo77 and jboo, Hope you guys still there and hold on! I sure you guys will hear something b4 new year! PPR should be around the corner! Thinking about you guys :-* :-* :-*

Charlyn42, a child cannot be sponsored after the age of their 21 birthday, so that maybe part of your delay. How long have you been waiting.

Lexi that's incorrect, if the child has been attending school full time before their 21st birthday, cic considers him/her as a dependent and they can be sponsored based on that. I went to in process on Nov. 13, 2014. it has been 8 mths since application has been filed.

She's kinda correct. The law change now since this year though. The sponsoring age for a child now is under 19 do it did change. So she's correct. But if you applied way before it's ok. Some people will go into process and won't hear anything and some will hear asap. Every case is different

Hey Jacwife and Stacy...and anyone POS...The worst thing was getting an understanding of what it is that they do for oversea shipments...Sounds like FedEx doesn't let you do the prepaid inside the pkg at time of sending PP either...now that I know the scoop with DHL and what to ask for it might not be the worst situation for those of you coming up. Here is the process in a nutshell of what you need to do to make it smooth sailing - it's descriptive but if you have questions let me know, I probably had the same one :)

Applicant will need to go to DHL and send off the PP, then you (or hubby) email POS explaining that you need them to contact you via email when the package is ready to get picked up from their office so you can make courier arrangements because you were unable to get a prepaid envelope. when they respond to you - you can then call DHL Jamaica (876-920-0010) and explain to the rep that you have a pkg at Trini Embassy that needs to get picked up - and that you'll need the "Consignee Liability Letter for Destination Requested Shipment". Ask them to email this to you and fill it out with the APPLICANTS information and the POS information. then scan and email it back to that same person stating that they ensure it's going to go back to MOBAY or KINGSTON (mine went to KINGSTON in their error, slowing us down even more) and they will send that form to DHL Trinidad and the courier goes to the Embassy 2x per day to pick up packages. EMAIL POS to let them know you've made the arrangements and DHL will by to pick it up that day or the following (business) day. DHL Trin will ONLY be notified that there is a shipment, not the name on the package or anything like that, so if within 1 business day after you make courier arrangements and your shipment has NOT been picked up, contact DHL JA to see if the package had been attempted to get picked up - if so EMAIL POS to say they have tried to pick it up, please ensure it's available for pick up and provide a tracking number if possible. IF it has been picked up...track it all the way home -- it will go all over the place...it takes 2 business days to return.

Hope this helps!!
