Well..........Kingston just emailed us and asked for a new PC and original Marriage and Birth Certificates. We have 60 days to hand them in from today!!!

We having the same timeline but my file is still in Kingston....they told me first we were in POS and 1 week later I sent an email and they replied that my file is not there!! And when I emailed Kingston I receive a confirmation that my email will be transferred to the missions abroad! So presently I think my file is in the ocean!

We are 4 or 5 of us travelling to Jamaica in Oct! We having a JAMFAM GT at Margaritaville - Mobay (hipstrip) on Oct. 16 for ladies night party ! So if you want to join us it would be nice !

I didn't email them asking where it actually is. I will in couple weeks if it really starts getting in my nerves. I'm hoping it is there seems to be a good sign if it is. Right. Lol

CDNandTrini! it's so good to hear from you! and to get your immigration scoop too. I'm one of the POS girls now, so it's nice to hear from someone who's been through their office! some of us vets witnessed this time last year when there was a boom of people getting through -- here's hoping that that will happen again for the rest of us 2013's...and soon!

;D Hi Mrs. P. how are you my dear? Welcome to POS, how many of you were transferred? Does anyone actually know? How are you and Mr. P doing? You are correct about the boom of people that will start hearing things from now until Christmas and then again Jan. until March and I pray that all of the 2012 and 2013 folks are going to get good news. I have a good feeling as well as having studied the trends over the past years.

For all of you who were transferred, have a look at the POS spreadsheet. I used to do it but now our resident Dr. - Miss Dominica is back and she is taking it on again. For those of you who do not know, Miss D applied common law (before me) through POS and was refused. It was a big blow to our thread as she was one of our senior members and always helping others so when she got refused it was shared suffering for the rest of us as well. The good news is she is now happily married to her honey and they have just recently re-submitted their new application as a married couple so this time should be a fast slam dunk.

We also know that POS can move really fast as there were about 3-4 couples fr0m Guyana that were processed in like 3 months!! So we know they are capable and if Kingston gets some help with this action, they will hopefully move faster as well.

Glad you enjoyed my follow up re: hubby is all " Winter? I got this..." lol.......he is like that about almost everything now but he was humbled the other day by about 40 of his tomatoes getting brown and frostbitten. So now I have 3 gigantic dead tomato plants inside my house as he is convinced he will resurrect them with his special Trini love. I cannot convince him otherwise even with Googling!! He also still does not trust the dishwasher and every night I load it after he goes to sleep and every morning I wake up to hand washed dishes all over the counter that were carefully unloaded while I was still sleeping. Ain't love grand??? Keep me posted on your progress my dear. Blessings.

Good adjustment story and advice, I can honestly say I love canada so hubby n I won't argue for sure about who's country is the best lol, we all know Jamaica is a place to live when you a millionaire not when you feeding just hand to mouth now that is depressing, don't get me wrong a lot of people in canada do live and to mouth but there are a lot more things that's put in place there than here but anyways that's my opinion again thanks for all those info n I keep Praying for us all

My file also got transferred to port of spain n since last year November when I applied last week was when I receive my AOR from port of spain so am guessing they working on my file n that's a good thing?

Hello impatientgirl and you are most welcome. Yes immigration is a painful process and prayer is very important. For sure a lot of us live paycheque to paycheque in most countries and as another member said there are always good and bad things about countries, people and life!!

I believe the files getting transferred are a good thing for the folks going to POS and for the folks remaining in Kingston for the reasons I already mentioned. It is always a good thing when anyone receives any communication on their file because it means it has been/is being looked at. I think it may still be too early to tell if POS will prioritize the Kingston files but I do think within the next 2-3 months you will all start seeing a lot of action. Once you start seeing this then you can start to see a bit of a pattern or trend. If you have been around since last November, it is pretty normal for immigration to have to look at the file on the one year date (I think this is also called the bring forward -BF- date) which if I am not mistaken, was more common in Kingston than POS last year. POS last year, usually touched most files within less than a year. It will be interesting to stay tuned and now more than ever for everyone to update each other with any glimmers of hope! I always say a success for one on this journey means a success for all. Blessings.

I guess I'm fortunate that my husband lived here before. So we don't get into the "showdowns" about that. However, this morning he was just saying how desperate he is to get back and have a normal marriage and work schedule again. Who ever thought that you would look forward to the ho-hum of ordinary life.

Can Trini, I laughed when I saw your post about you hubby resurrecting the frost bitten tomatoes and not trusting the dishwasher. My husband is the same and does the same thing too, except he washes them before we go to bed regardless of how tired we are. Lol

May I ask - when they asked for the original birth certificate - what did u send in - a copy? My husband didn't have his original but got one ( from wherever they get one when theirs is lost). If the very original one since birth is lost by their parent , then what I'm wondering And hubby mailed me the original marraige certificate and we gave Kingston a copy ( was afraid of losing the original. Sorry for the long question Just hoping I'm behind you. Thanks in advance

They just requested the originals today and we haven't handed anything in. When we applied we sent in copies. Even if its been reissued it is still the original copy of it and not a photocopy

same things were required for us, however they wanted a copy or proof of medical and police checks, we went to medical office and they said just send copy~ i was thinking well its expired so shouldnt we stay one step ahead and just complete a new one, but she said no.. we had a copy of ja police check but not for canada so we have to wait for a new one to complete(2 weeks time)
