I have a question....I am just finishing up my applications, marriage certificate should arrive by fed ex tomorrow and just realized that hubby didn't sign the police certificates. Will they return our application for this? Should I send it back to him to sign and send back to me? What a pain, but I want to get it done right the first time! Any thoughts?

HI There....I just got back from JA and was there when my husband picked up his police check. He was told he had to sign it before we sent it in or it would be returned.

I have seen on here a few say that they haven't and nothing has been said....I would say get him to do it just in case it is sent back...save some time.

OKKKK on that note i am now down off my high horse. However Positive Patty is in the building and i will keep on riding only riding side saddle at a slow pace. Thank you for being direct with me i appreciate that approach, I would hate to be here waiting and anticipating only to have weeks and months past with nothing improving.
The best way to get thought this process is not to think about it too much. Do not allow it to overwhelm your mind cuz it can and will drive you crazy.

Yes my dear I am tracking with the number hubby provided to me and still no updates yet it just states that the shipment was accepted so we r hoping as u predicted atleest this weekend to see some progress n once i do IT IS ON lol

Ok finally done reading all 50 plus pages I missed while I was gone

Chickie - not sure if you are still going to JA or not but I just used my TD bank card down there no problem. There was a 5.00 charge....used it at Scotia. They won't work at the CIBC down here. Tried a couple different ATM's.

Congrats to everyone who did get some news from Kingston. I passed the Canadian Embassy a few times and believe me I wanted to go in there and say " WHAT THE HELL IS THE HOLD UP" for a few of you waiting a long time.

Thanks i am starting to get a hold of things here now ( i see that the process with immigration is expect nothing and you won't be disappointed), it's a shame do they realize that peoples lives are at stake here and that we need to know what is going on with our files. Do they realize the nervousness and anticipation that we all go through, I guess not or maybe they just don't care who knows. Any how i have set my mind to just keep on living my life and pray that this whole process will be over soon. MY girlfriend told me not to worry that i have a pretty solid case and that maybe not today or tomorrow but one day all will be over and this path in my life will be nothing but a faded memory. I can't wait for this all to be just a memory.

Hi Everyone,
Still nothing. Haven't heard anything from the officer regarding my husbands passport. Still waiting, still frustrated and confused. If I don't see any change by Thursday evening. I'm calling her butt bright and early on Friday

i'm trying to not think about it too much but it sucks when you think you're at the end, they have your passport, they have the shipping label, they have all the information and they sit there and not even say to themselves, let me get it out of the way and give these people what they need. I bet you next she's gonna say he needs to redo the medical. With our luck i see the hold up being longer.

Thanks!

Medical Extension Clarification

Good morning fam jam! There seems to be some confusion regarding medical extensions so I thought I'd post the below explanation from another thread along with the CIC link so that everyone has a clear understanding of how the process works and when the VO can request one.

"There's a new procedure that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approval and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).
Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam. The details are on the CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

Hopefully this saves folks time and expense of extra medical exams."
thank you for clearing this medical extension thing for us sis...

Oh no, don't postpone your trip! You can't put your life on hold for this process. You go and enjoy your anniversary vacay with your hubby. Everything will still be here when you get back.
i sure agree with you sis....she should sure go spend her anniversary with her hubby dont matter where they want ....this process will still be here.....do stress that your hubby is going to miss kingston trying to contact him for anything.....remember the can email, call, or send letters so he will sure hear from them one of those ways. :)
