this is my story
MY husband and I first met when we were very young probably about 5 or 6 years old when my family moved from ST ELIZABETH TO ST ANN. When i was 15 we started dating (never been with any other boy before) at age 19 i moved to Canada and we were kept our relationship going through email text messages Skype and me going back home as often as i could, we got engaged 6 years ago and decided to take it slow so we had a long engagement 4 year engagement to be exact. The summer before we got married he applied for a visitors visa to come and visit during his summer holidays and was turned down. When he was turned down we finally set a wedding date as neither of us wanted to spend anymore time apart. Since we got married we have been debating on if i should come back to Jamaica and we settle there or if it would be better to sponsor him and he come here. I finished my course last year and landed a great job so we decided to settle here. It took us a bit to get all the info together (me being as anal as i am had to check and recheck our application once i was finally happy with my application and all the fees were paid i sent it in to Mississauga in November we got approval in January and now here i am patiently

This is the first time I will be filing as married and I am wondering if I include my hubby on my tax return and do I include his income??

Question is hubby in Canada with you? My hubby filed as a married person, however I am not in Canada so he gets no benefits for being married unless I am with him there,

Sorry all another question again. Please tell me if i am getting annoying with these questions, I have a tendency to be quite over bearing sometime.

Anyhoo my question is my husband has been checking his application online and for weeks it said medicals received, last week the medicals received was removed and they changed it to In process with a date attached to it of April 5th - does this mean that someone has started working on our file now ?

Who knows? The only thing consistent with Kingston is inconsistency!

Hopefully you will hear from them sooner than later. Tell your hubby to keep his phone on him at all times, check his emails, and the post. You never know how or when Kingston is going to contact you!

that's very true , however due to my nature i will be worried the whole time i am away that maybe they are trying to call him and cant get through or something hmmmm i guess the old man and I are gonna have to have chat tonight and make a decision, maybe we will just celebrate in Jamaica and leave Grand cayman for next year.

Yolo that is awesome news!! Based on the eCAS update to In Progress, you should be getting a PPR call any day now. That has been the case for virtually all members. Unless there are reasons for concerns within your application, in other words, if the visa officer has waived the interview, does not require additonal documents, this likely means you are in the last stretch. Make sure your husband glues the phone to him starting NOW.

I'm back!!!!!

Haven't had the chance to read up on everything that has been going on but I will get to it later this afternoon

Hubby loved my baby bump and couldn't stop touching it. He felt her kick a few times and thought it was amazing. Bawled like a baby when I left yesterday. This was the hardest time leaving yet

Finally have ALL the papers and they will be filled by end of the week. Need to get this "waiting for hubby" process going.

Meet up with Oneandonly and her husband. She's having a great time. They ended up coming up to my hubby's place for a drink one night then followed us over to Mobay.

Went to a wake for a family friend on Saturday night in Santa Cruz St Elizabeth. That was very interesting. Jamaican's sure know how to celebrate life let me tell ya

we turned left off the main road in Santa Cruz - if coming from Kingston....I can't remember what was at the corner....then we went down the road maybe 2-3mins.

Chickie, you are NEVER a Debbie Downer! You are just reminding each of us of the realities of this process! Heck, you can be like me and eCAS still has Application Received! Obviously my application is in process, it's just never been updated on eCAS. We can never be 100% sure of anything...

HI There....I just got back from JA and was there when my husband picked up his police check. He was told he had to sign it before we sent it in or it would be returned.

I have seen on here a few say that they haven't and nothing has been said....I would say get him to do it just in case it is sent back...save some time.

The best way to get thought this process is not to think about it too much. Do not allow it to overwhelm your mind cuz it can and will drive you crazy.

Thanks i am starting to get a hold of things here now ( i see that the process with immigration is expect nothing and you won't be disappointed), it's a shame do they realize that peoples lives are at stake here and that we need to know what is going on with our files. Do they realize the nervousness and anticipation that we all go through, I guess not or maybe they just don't care who knows. Any how i have set my mind to just keep on living my life and pray that this whole process will be over soon. MY girlfriend told me not to worry that i have a pretty solid case and that maybe not today or tomorrow but one day all will be over and this path in my life will be nothing but a faded memory. I can't wait for this all to be just a memory.
