Ready,

Unless the rules have changed, you can apply now. My sisters and I also landed at the end of the year and I remember my dad filing right away and dec. was counted - but that was a minute ago. Either way, I would advise that you send the apllication now.

thanks hon
i took najj advice and called cctb they told me to file right away and write a letter stating that my husband was not a landed immigrant untill december ...
she was really nice told me all i needed to do so that it would not complicate and hold up my child tax benefits or cause me any problems ;D ;D ;D
the government karma seems to have finally forgiven me :D :D :D :D

congratulations on your landing in Toronto
My family also just landed in Toronto at the end of December and they had no problems and hassles they too were out in less than half hour
they got great treatment the whole journey ...flight attendant fell in love with my step daughter and bumped them up to first class...they received free food, drinks, headphones on the flight and were personally escorted to immigration and helped with filling out all paperwork ;D

Tamarindball, Blondie, Nevaeha, Chickie, Ready, Keke Sam11, you have all been a blessing to me. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I wish all the best for you ladies this year. The sun came up as usual and God is the same today as he was yesterday; Kind, loving, forgiving, faithful. My heart continues to beat though it threathened to fail during my ordeal.. I feel joy inside still. I feel connected to you ladies although we may never meet. I allowed you all to tarry with me and no one fell asleep. You have all secured and stored some prayers for me but you will gain interest on this deposit. Thank you so much. Your prayers have gone up and today I am reaping the rewards. Stay positive in your endevours and love without reservation. For those of you who have been reunited with your love ones, always remember to look and think kind things toward them even when they get on your nerves. We are all blessed.

You['re welcome. Just continue to keep praying and I will remember you in my prayers too as you need all the strength etc at this time.

On another note, my husband received email today confirming his eligibility to sponsor me so that's very good news. We're so very happy words for the positive news. The file has now been sent to Kgn. for further processing so hopefully that won't be a drawn out process but I am learning patience. Still, we can't complain as CPC-M only received our package on Dec. 3 and we got AOR on Dec. 11 so overall the process is going relatively quickly. God is still in control and it's all about His timing and decision!

Kingston is where the slow journey starts. So far I or hubby haven't heard anything and we applied in novemeber 2012. Keep strong and patience is the key to all of this.

One and Only

Thanks for the encouragement.

I will also try not to use/compare other persons' experience as I have realised that every case is different and plus I don't want to get too stressed about this. I just hope for the best in terms of timing. My only drawback is that I can't work right now and receive the benefits of a PR, which can be stressful at times, but at least I am with my husband so I don't have to worry about uniting.

the wait from Kingston is the hardest and most trying time of all (you gotta have the patience of Job)
but the wait is defiantly worth it ....from my experience once Kingston officially starts working on your file then things start to move very quickly.... Good luck hoping your waits wont be too long

Well that is wonderful that your with your husband that sure does take a lot of stress away. As soon as you know it you will be working. Just enjoy your work free days lol it will be a little holiday for you probably well needed. Your PR will be here in no time. Is your husband applying inland?

It surely does hon. No we're applying outland - Kingston. I know I am enjoying being lady of leisure especially in the winter here when I don't feel like leaving home sometimes.

Oh the cold weather sucks lol I been sick for 2 weeks with the influenza. Keep us posted on your journey I hope we both have a speedy process.

Wow. Sorry to hear. Hope you'll get better soon. Get lots of rest and drink lots of liquid which hopefully you've been doing.
So you're in Canada? if so, whereabouts are you?
oneandonly What exactly does stage 2 entails? Are the checks mainly about me said:

Yes hon I'm in toronto and hubby is in jamaica. I'm getting better thank you for your encouragement. If I'm not mistaken stage 2 looks at the applicant they look at the application and proof that was sent in terms of your relationship and marriage. If they need more proof they might call you in for an interview. Then if all is well they will call you to bring your passport then your visa will be ready. The process of your passport and visa is a few months if I believe is right. I'm just at the beginning stages I hope my app is in kingston.

Oh so I can understand your anxiety if your hubby is in Ja. How long have you've been here. I just got here in June but been coming here since 2004 so long time!
Well we hope we're in the fast boat and things will go quickly for us and others in Phase 2 as the waiting esp if your spouse is overseas can be overbearing no doubt. Fingers crossed my interview will be waived so I won't even need to go back to Ja. for interview but if I have to then so be it as I know possibility exists. I can well courier passport if necessary.
Best wishes to you.

Congratulations on your husband receiving sponsorship approval; what a great way to begin the New Year! You are one step closer....
