hey ladies...
Just a question, I don't know if anyone in here will know the answer... but I would love any insight. My husband and I are going to apply for a visitor's visa, and a medical is required. I am wondering if we have to get a second medical(because he got a medical for the spousal sponsorship visa)? I am hoping that we can use that one again, but I can't seem to find the answer to that anywhere. I am going to try and call CIC tomorrow, but it takes forever to get through to them! I am so desperate to have my husband here. and I know that visitor's visas rarely get accepted but I think its worth a try anyway. I am going to beggggggg them to send him to me, :)

Just wondering - how do you know that he is required to do a medical for a TRV? I am just asking because when my hubby applied for a TRV last year (before we submitted app for his PR) he wasn't required to do a medical.

I believe it must be new that they have to do a medical, because whhen we looked before you didn't have to submit a medical, it just said that they could ask you to do a medical before yoou were approved. Now I went onto the new website and filled out the questions to make sure he was eligible, and it asked first of all if he had a medical done by a cic approved physician in the last year. And then when I looked at the requirements to apply it said a medical exam must be done. So now I am wondering if he needs a completely new one or if he can use the same one?

Oh, ok! I would assume since they asked if he had one done within the last year, then he wouldn't be required to do one again at this point.

That seems like a really long time for you not to hear anything......try posting in the POS thread (link below) maybe someone there would be able to share their experience with you.

Happy new year to everyone and God's speed with your aprovals and landing stories. My husband and I just spent our first Christmas together.

Please forget I asked this question. I called CIC and they have said that no medical is required.. I don't know why it came up on the checklist.. Thanks for your answer though. No medical is required when you apply for a temprorary resident visa.

I might check to see if applying for a visitors visa would halt your PR application before you apply...unless you have already looked into this. I know others who have applied and they had problems. Also he might be declined as they will see that you have an application in for PR and they might think that he isn't coming back to JA after the visitors visa

I don't mean to be harsh by any means and I don't want to see you get disappointed if things go wrong. I know how it feels to be missing your spouse and wanting them here. I am 4 months pregnant and would have to have my husband here....however he can't be :(

Good luck and let us know what happens

Ready,

Unless the rules have changed, you can apply now. My sisters and I also landed at the end of the year and I remember my dad filing right away and dec. was counted - but that was a minute ago. Either way, I would advise that you send the apllication now.
