Ok guys, I am wanting to get some chats going on this forum.. wanting to meet people and have some great conversations like they were having in the old days... some are pretty funny.. been reading the old pages and laugh me a laugh!!

Anyone interested in telling the story of how the meet their love? I love those stories almost as much as I love the landing stories! I will go first:

I was travelling to JA for vaca quite often when I met some hotel staff that I became quite good friends with. One man in particular and his wife. We all became very close and soon his wife was expecting their first baby and asked me to be godmother! I was ecstatic.. so I booked a trip to try and be there for the baby's birth. When I got there, baby was born 2 days before so Daddy and I went out to a street party with all of our friends. you guessed it, hubby was there.. and all of our friends were trying to hook us up but I wouldnt go for it, at first lol. we hung out in our group of friends all night, hubby included and we all had fun pure jokes an all... then the next night a friend told me to meet him outside hotel and when i went out there I find friend with hubby waiting for me.. we sat under the stars and talked all night! It was very nice... he found out my phone number from friends and called me everyday for the rest of my stay... we hung out lots in groups and then went out on a few dates towards the end... when I got back to Canada I wasnt sure if I really wanted the long distance thing but it has turned out to be the best decision I have ever made. We have a beautiful son together and great marriage!

Anyone else have babies with their hubbies as yet??

Good evening, folks! Welcome and do stick and stay, Basha! I will add you to our update listing in my next post. I am going to have to agree with canucko469, unfortunately your pregnancy will not have any effect on the process, KG works at their own speed and babies tend to be somewhat faster! However, there's always the hope you might get that one really efficient officer processing your application who gets hubby home to you in time!

Dancehallvid, they may not ask you all of them, as not every question is appropriate to every couple. However, your spouse should be prepared to answer ALL of them, because they are all drawn from the application forms.

Great meeting story, Jamgirl! I think Jamaicans just love to match-make, as I recall from lots of the stories here, it was friends who got a number of the couples here together, LOL.

I have a question? The lady who is first on the list for 2012 any reason why she would have an interview already? Is this normal to get an interview right away? Just wondering as I don't see interviews on the ones above?

Chickie72, AliCat's husband's file has already been received at KG. At times, upon doing the initial review of a file (usually done within 4-6 weeks of when the file is received), the IO decides that they want a personal interview with the applicant in order to get a better idea of the relationship.

Glad to see there is movement again in Kingston...congrats to all those recvng updates!!!

Hey Charlie, can you update me..from February my ecas stat changed to recv'd in KGN & medicals recv'd mentioned it in a previous post too...but maybe it got lost in the shuffle of things

Spring is upon us here in the GTA...seems kind of strange because of the past sudden drops to frigid temperatures, just hoping it will get better from here!! With all this great weather, hoping many more will get some great news very soon about their spouses!! KGN please send our spouses home before another winter!!!

my husband was here in canada on a visitors visa when we met !! and after a month and half of dating we started talkin about marriage and i was scared and broke up with him for a month and realized he was the one for me and went back to him!! 5 months after meeting he asked me to marry him and 6 weeks after that we got married!!! and have been married now for 2 years one month!! and he is the best thing that has happend to me beside having my daughter... i cant wait to have him and our kids here !! i hope we can give them everything they need in this interview thats comin up!!

Jamgirl, sure! Erm, hubby and I met on a music website, LOL. Total buck-up, as we say! He was intrigued that a Jamaican loved country music, and told me he grew up around Jamaicans, loved Jamaican food and cooked a mean curried goat himself (true!). It took some talking on his part, but finally I let him see a picture of me on a profile on the website (I kept mine restricted), then some more talking and I added him to FB and then lots more talking before I considered him a friend and we got to talking basically every day. By now you've probably guessed my husband could sell an igloo to an Eskimo, because he sold me on the idea of a guy who would travel all this way to be with me, and he proved true to it. He came to Jamaica carrying the rings, I said yes and the rest, as they say, is history!

Our stories just make me freakin laugh!!!

Ok , here's mine.....I love black skin, like totally in love with dark skin, any shade...first crush/boyfriend/sorta...lol...was black, omg with green eyes...oh yeah..landing story ...so in October I'm in Tdot for w/e with a g/f, I'm in Yorkdale mall..just drooling left n right. I'm walking by H&M and I see this sweet looking guy come out of dressing room, so being the cougar I was(he's 6 yrs younger,not too bad), I walk in, pretend to look around...make eye contact, tell him his jeans look great on him....hang around abit, ask him for his number (shameless I know). Didn't call for a couple weeks. Well our first phone call lasted the better part of 18 hrs, yes 18hrs...When we met his visa was already up but I never thought of any extension or such, really I thought he was just gonna be a booty call. But call after call and then one of them he asked me to marry him(Valentines Days). I was ready to run for the hills being divorced after 1y yrs of marriage. I had to think about it for a few days.But I came to the realization that life is too short not to take chances. So I said yes. Didn't see him again till April (i'm 8hrs drive north of Tdot)and again in May, by this time I was hook line and sinker...He went back to JA in July, he has a daughter and home there. I went in August met his daughter and had his ex stand for me at our registrar wedding. I've had my ups and downs with the distance thing...not easy Lord knows, but this man makes me want and try to be a better wife. A more mature and understanding wife...ok...gotta stop now....before I start to freakin cry LOL.

Wow love reading these how I met my husband stories

So here goes I will add mine
My story is sort of off the wall(Jerry Springer moment)…. 7 years ago on the day my daughter was born … which also coincidently was my 24 birthday as well … I found out that her father who I had been with since I was 16 was not only engaged to me but to another woman as well… NEEDLESS to say I was devastated and swore that any man who ever crossed my path would feel my wrath …. Being home on mat leave and bored when baby was asleep I had nothing better to do than go on random websites …. I found joy in playing with peoples heads on those sites especially those guys who would talk to
Me just because I was in a foreign country… as luck would have it one of the guys I met on gojamaica I exchanged email address with him and he created a virtual chat room where he added a lot of his contact and we were all have a great old time chatting it up with each other… as the conversations went on I found myself in a one and one conversation with one of the guys on there (hubby)… seemed to us like all the other people were not even there … we eventually exchanged email addresses and started talking to each other almost everyday … I was still on the complex of never letting my walls I built up to protect my heart break down …. But I gots to tell you all he broke them down like a bulldozer …. I have to say dropping the walls and allowing myself to love again was the best thing I ever did because 6 years later we are now married and I have never been happier
