I was thinking that myself soanxiouswifey.....

............has anyone had any personal experiance with this one?

My dear I wish I could say when they will give you back your pp. My husband's pp was requested 2 mths and counting and still....... As far as I can see, it's just a case by case basis. They will call for passport drop off and also for pick-up so make sure someone is in control of the phone number you gave them. I think DHL is now delivering pp so I'm not sure if the embassy will call you or DHL but you will definitely be called for pickup!!! Hope this info. helps!!!!

masskendawta, my friend had her mom drop her pp off and also pick-up.All she had to do was give her mom a signed permission to pick it up and her mom had to present an I.d but since DHL is delivering now not sure about collecting it back .

OK ramdont, I updated that previous post to include your timeline. Again, that list is getting rather long, so I figured I would just update that one.

Hi masskendawta, a warm welcome to my dear.

CharlieD10 - girl you are funny, i like your spirit.

soanxiouswifey what forms?

well, my friend told me when she get to Canada, at the airport she landed she saw an imm officer and fill out forms for permanent residency and stuff like that...Then they would send Permanent Residency Card through the mail...something like that

Ramdont,

OMG....they have had your passport over two months?...geez...that is ridiculous...I pray you get it back soon.

Thanks for the info on the PPR

Is she here in Canada???? Cause if she is she'll definitely have to go back so that they can have the pp to process her visa!!! All along I thought she was there in Ja. but unable to personally drop off . I misinterpritted what I read!!! I do aplogize!

soanxiouswifey,

I have read on other forums where people mail their passports to the canadian High commission (not the one in Jamaica though, I have only heard of it for the office in England), and it is mailed back.

Then they drive across the US boarder and turn right back around to Canada and then 'land' and fill out all of the forms and stuff there at the boarder.

I read that you don't have to enter through an airport, but can do it at ANY port of antry into Canada.

masskendawta: two months and still waiting, I contacted my MP and he called Kingston, only to be told that they are waitng on verification of Marriage Certificate!!! How can you request someone's pp then hold it at ransome to verify documents??? I am mad, frustrated, feeling hopeless at times, disappointed........ but one day in the near future I hope I'll be free from this nonsense with Kingston!!!!! >:(

Ramdont,

You know.....it amazes me how the innocent always have to suffer for the damn foolish mistakes of others!

What is it they are waiting on for verification of the marriage?

Try not to make the situation get you down..it will all be over soon and you can put that place behind you for good.

Good Luck!!

MKD, yes, you can "flagpole" at the US-Canadian border. You go across, tell the American Border Services personnel you do not wish to enter the US, you just want to "flagpole" and they will turn you around and send you back to Canadian Border officials to be landed. Many "outland" applicants from the US who are "visiting" Canada during their PR processing go through this.
