I remember it was a big deal when my brothers were finally allowed to share in this bizarre ritual, it goes back to some kind of fertility beliefs. I don't think the visit will be for Valentine's, he was told he would get his passport back in 4-6 weeks and it's only been a week since he sent it off.
Lonely - hubby misplaced his passport when he went back to Canada in October. After 2 weeks of searching for it, he reported it missing, and Service Canada flagged it. A week after making the police report, he found it in a bowl of fruit in the den ??? When he called Service Canada, they said they could expedite a replacement, but he wouldn't be able to use the old passport. As it turns out, since the passport is less than a year old, they have decided to reinstate it, so he sent it back to them for them to un-flag it, and he will be able to use it when it is returned
