Sammy do you have a link where it mentionned that is valid for 15 months because the only info I found on CIC says 12 months for applications of permanent residence.

Hey Mel, from what I understand the medical is good for 12 months, but if the process is near the end they "might" ask an extension for an extra 12 months if the expiry date is not passed 15 months.

That's correct however if they are requesting a new PC and medical you are near the end. So if the medical is within the 15 month mark they should be requesting an ext and not for a new medical.

But then again....do the Visa office follow the what's posted on the CIC website....nope!

Our meds were extended in April and as per the Cic website they will only be extended if everything is done on the file and all you need is valid medicals for the visa to be issued. That was 4 months ago and we are still waiting.

Your right Sammy, they are good for 15 months, I will let them know, I never new that... What you think is next after we send med and police rec?

In all honesty. You sit and wait for them to do your PPR. Who knows how long that will take. The POS office is fast so you might not be waiting long

Hi lexi, it is your choice but since they are extending the medicals very frequently, I wouldn't do it unless it is requested. If they decide to extend it, they will do so before the 15 months, it cannot be done after that period.

Since not all the VO's update the GCMS notes on a regular basis, a reassesment could have been requested even if it doesn't show in your notes and you would end up spending your money in vain.

You could always ask KG if your medical have been extended at the following email adress: kingston.immigration@international.gc.ca

Order your notes to see if they have been extended or email the visa office. They will let you know. I wouldn't get them done and pay the 130.00 Canadian until I knew for sure that they haven't been extended. This is just my opinion though. This process already costs so much money

I just sent a case specific request to the POS office, so we will see what they say.

Ok so next week I will send an email to confirm they have received the new pc and also ask for an extension because I received my notes today and i cant see that meds will be extend...it says valid to Sept 30 2014. So thats why Im stressing about it cause the review date due on 13 Jan 2015 so it will be over 15 months at this time. But if PoS are fast maybe they will review it before. My dream! Lol Thanks girls for the info!

I hear you! Money, energy and so on... My hubby's file is still in KG too. Redo the PC and send it to them and now we wait... You'll soon receive your last set of notes Sammy hopefully you'll hear from them too, passed 15 months there must be something going on for God's sake!

Your daughter needs her dada and I'm pretty sure you need your hubby with you ASAP with your new baby on the way.

Someone in my june threead was jus sharing hisor her concern about their application which is basically an exact replica of my current situation.

So I did what sammy said... I called the mp myself (cyah depend pon my bf) they said they cant do anything there if I haven't received SA yet they dont reach my file even though they say they are at july 17. Someone in my june thread say they might be doing background checks but me a say soo long?!...neither of us have any records ntn.

They wouldn't be doing background checks on you at all. The will check the sponsor to make sure they haven't been on welfare or there isn't anything else to hold up the file.

The MP can help you and so an inquiry as to why it's taking so long to get sponsorship approval if it's past the posted date. If they are not willing to help you with this first step they will be useless during the whole process

MP's are SUPPOSE to help you when you go past the posted times on the CIC webpage....but we all know that most of them don't. I would be emailing my MP and also Chris Alexander's office.

Ohh yea Ok ! I will tell my cousin to call today and see what they say.

I finally sent an email to PoS to see if they have received the new pc and to extend the meds. And also I want to know if PoS needs the original Certificate Selection Quebec. Hope they will reply quickly.
