Hello KTluv how are you doing....... welcome to our little family here........first off, filling out the application is not that hard... most of it is self explanitary. just read the guide first before you start to fill out the application and make sure you tell the truth on the application also.....when you finish filling out the application make a copy for you and your spouse to keep.. if there is an interview requested. they will ask the applicant questions from the application so it go to remember what you wrote..
For the evidence try and provide them with proof of your relationship before marriage like when you first met during marriage and after marriage....the main thing they are trying to avoid fraud marriage just for a person to get there stay in Canada. send the like pics of you together with your spouse, western union receipt, pic of wedding, card, airline tickets, stamp in passport, phone records, emails, etc. things like that help prove your case to the immigration officers to grand you or your spouse the visa for residency... I hope this help you out but there is a lot of free lawyers here can can answer your question or give you some good advice when you need it...

It doesn't appear that much happens around here in the summer months. :'(

Both of the visa officers in Kingston have been there for quite some time (from what I've read) so I would imagine they each have about six weeks of holidays. If they need a temporary worker I'll be happy to take my vacation and spend it in Jamaica showering the forum with PPR's!

There seems to be a lot of activity between November and March but there is still work being done year round!

Go Kingston Go!

Welcome to the forum family, KTluv! :D

Good luck getting everything together for your application and submitting it in August.

In addition to what Maddants informed you of, you can have friends and family members write letters on behalf of your relationship.

Hello everyone

I have recently joined this forum as I feel no one around me understands what I am going through. My boyfriend was recently detained and issued a removal order from Canada due to an overstay. He left June 30.

Here is the catch he had a marriage of convenience in 2005. When he came to Canada in 2011, he admitted to immigration it was a marriage of convenience. From what I understand he did not return to the immigration centre for fuehrer questioning that resulted in a warrant being issued. He was detained and bail was rejected. According to the immigration officer, he has a removal order and can not return to Canada before a year without permission.

He was in the process of regularizing himself when all of this happened. His divorce will be finalized on July 19. The plan prior to all of this happening was to get married in November. (To mark our 1 year anniversary) He is adamant we wait until January to demonstrate that we have been together for cover 1 year. I just wanted to know if this would make difference or complicate the sponsorship process if we got married in November?

Welcome KTLuv; and Leshatesha wishing you both all the best with your applications.

KTLuv; my advise is the same as Maddants; honesty is the best policy as well, the guides are very detailed to assist you in completing the forms.

Also organise, organise, organise and ensure you have everything requested from the checklists. Lots of pictures and correspondence between you and your spouse and as someonelse said letters from family and friends.

Leshatesha; I am sure shortly our more senior members will be able to give you some advise on your case.

There is a spreasheet on the bottom of Chickie72 posts; please let us know once you have filed if you would like us to add you to the spreadsheet.

Look forward to having you both around.

Good morning Leshatesha and welcome to our JamFam! :D

I read your previous posts on the other thread and I believe they gave you some sound advice. In my opinion, the visa officer looking at your application will have many questions regarding your soon to be hubby's past and will more than likely request an interview. A prior marriage of convenience is not something they will take lightly and will raise a red flag. I am glad to hear that you are hiring a lawyer and they may be the best person to ask if it will make a difference if you get married in November instead of January. Personally, I wouldn't rush into marriage. Since you will be spending your maternity leave in JA (congratulations on your pregnancy!) it will be a great time to get to know your hubby even better.

There are other members of this thread that have had to do an ARC and they can share their experiences with you.

I wish you, your hubby, and baby all the best! ;D

Good Morning Forum Fam; ;D

Kingston is hard at work :p My hubby got a generic email from them last night around 8pm. He wrote them 2 weeks ago asking for an AOR.

This was the response:

Dear Mr. X,

Thank you for your email.

This Family Class application was received by our office on 04 March 2013 after being forwarded by Case Processing Centre Mississauga. This application is currently pending initial review, after which we will contact you directly to advise the outcome of the review and any next steps.

We are striving to make our processing of Family Class applications as efficient as possible. Processing times are calculated from the date the application is approved by Case Processing Centre Mississauga, after which it is sent to the visa office for further processing. For individual cases, actual processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the application and the number of new applications received by the visa office.

Applicants can check the status of their case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application
Status <https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en> . Applicants may also refer to our website, www.jamaica.gc.ca <http://www.jamaica.gc.ca/> , for more information about processing times.
