good idea anxiouslywaiting!

i sent the original marriage cert., his original birth cert, original police clearance, original medical form, letters from friends to substantiate our relationship is real, emails, msn log of all conversation, FB stuff, cell phone bills with all the text mssging, home phone bills, calling card record, digicel account record, the wedding itinerary and receipt, a ton of photos, the option C printout and recent paystub, notice of assessment just in case, employer letter, all my travel itineraries and plane tickets, copy of my passport with stamped pages, 8 passport photos of him, and god knows what else.....they should have NOTHING to ask for!!! Hubby has no children and has never travelled.

so let's see what happens.....

The underlying reasons are quite minor I think and should not add up to 8 months on to a persons file... So my case was simple and took 7 months - hubby never left the island, no children, never been married before, yada yada yada... but if a next person has a child do I think i have more of a right to a quicker process? NO... do I think its KGs right to make sure that the father or mother of the child is aware and consent.. YES... do i think it should take 8 months ... NO!

Do i want Kingston to be thorough and make sure no criminals, gun shot wedding, illegal aliens enter Canada - YES YES YES!

Do I think Kingston is really slow - YES. Do they need to upgrade their system to include email as a way to communicate - YES. Does Jamaica have the money to do that - NO! Is this a rotton cicrle YES

do i hate immigration - YES! am i glad its over - YES!

am i glad i have this site to kill time at work YES!

Anxious...no worries about sharing and celebrating... i am one that struggled today with mixed emotions but at no point did i have bad feelings towards you. I am always happy to see people end their journey with this process no matter how quickly, cause i would never wish for every one to suffer the same wait that i or others have had and are facing, it is the process that is disheartening. I felt the hit a little harder today because my BF date has come and gone...they were supposed to look at our file, and they have not....i had a whoe is me moment, re-acknowledging that life is not fair

i think it totally is the IO... some are better than others...

i've tried to guess why our application was approved quickly... as mentioned, we had factors that could play either way... him living in london (that was his residental address when the application was submitted... )... that could mean more paperwork (certainly did for us, two police records ect)... but it also could have meant that they leveraged the recently done background checks done from the UK side (both being commonwealth nations).. then there was our son who was born the day after i sent the application out... (planned that way, he was a csection)... they did request that we submit his bc, which added days onto our processing time i'm sure, but also maybe they expedited to have a father with his newborn?

what i've deducted is that it depends if the IO is good enough to pick up (and care) about things like this...

one thing i can say is that our first thoughts were to apply thru london (which has a much quicker processing time)... gut instinct told me not to do this... and i talked the hubby into jamaica... when i read over the threads it seems that everyone who applies thru london who isn't UK citizens are automatically interviewed... the interviews take in the timeframe of 1 year to get... i wasn't in touch with these boards, but sooo glad i followed my instincts on that one!



anyways... CONGRATS ANXIOUS!!! and hey to everyone else... i'm suffering from serious itis as we went out for our anniversary (has it been a year already!???!) ... all you can eat chinese... so i'm off to grab a nap while the kids are zooming their bikes up and down the crazy long driveway

I've been waiting from November 07......its been long..I dont know what emotions I've not experienced. I too have seen people that applied as recent as last year getting approved before me....The Lord must be preparing me for something....

I try to remind myself that I should not be 'anxious for anything'.....Yes I do have my days when I wild out and email/fax inquiries to the embassy, cuss and gwaan bad ...thats what we humans do....so vent away....LIke KC says the rejection rate is quite low...I dont think I've heard of any.....

We cant comfort you guys.....how you want to be comforted... (hush)...but we are here and I believe we will do as much possible to support you when the process becomes unbearable....

lol lcw it was at least over a month ago now maybe close to 2 months... i wasnt sure who it was but he added someone else to FB from this forum and then through them he got my name. try to add me, but i went to the other person and asked why their friend was adding me and them say it was Peni... so i added him.. sent him a few messages and him nah reply to me at all.. i hve never once talked to him or even seen movement on his Page... so if that is not him then it someone pretending to be him....

there is no pictures of him really and the one him have up is too far away to see detail... i dunno.. seem like a fraud to me.. id love for him to answer if that hiim or not!
