Hello JA folks, I keep an eye on the activities in this thread along with the the Port of Spain Office in Trinidad, which is where my husband's application is headed to (or sitting at
). as it seems there are a lot of "unfortunate similarities between the 2 offices
.
I find it very interesting that on CIC's website url - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/service-standards.asp
the 2011/2012 service standard which is the most up to date one they have posted - is listed at 12 months (not 6 months) for spouse/partner/dependent child PR applications. It seems odd to me (but take it as maybe a positive sign
?) that Kingston now has stated (in writing to a client) that 6 months is the service standard in spite of the website still saying 12 months.
So all you folks that have been waiting longer than 6 months (and it appears to be many) should now be able to refer to that written document stating Kingston's service standard is now 6 months apparently, and collectively rattle your MP's cages and get them calling Kingston more. On our thread one of the sponsors had not heard anything for 5 months, she sent a CSE to POS VO, got a reply within 24 hours and then received her AOR within 48 hours. Squeaky wheel can still be polite but keep on squeaking ;D. Blessings to all during this challenging time.
