Thanks for the welcome..My story is very short and simple My husband and i met when I was 6 yrs old and he was 5 I had moved from Clarendon to Manchester and on my first day of school we sat at the same lunch table. Our family was very close and we our house was rite next to each other so we basically did everything together from playing to getting in and out of trouble. he has always loved me and I him we were both just to shy and neither one of us wanted to tell each other about how we felt because we were both afraid it would ruin the friendship if the response wasn't what what we wanted to hear..lol...anyways I left for Canada when I was 12yrs old, however we remained friends over the years. we however did not start dating until 3 years back when I moved backed to Jamaica. out of the three years I was there we lived together for 2years and got married in that time as well. I came back to Canada because my father was dying and now that he has passed away I am seriously considering going back home while I wait on this CIC process. that's my story..thanks for reading it.

That's a fantastic story :)

That is a lovely story. From what i have read is that while in the process of immigration process you have to satisfy that you intend to live in Canada with hubby. However if you move back for a long period of time , they might want to qestion your application and motives. I am not an expert just what I read online.

Hi Everyone!

I claimed my husband as a dependent and I filed as married for the first time this year. I had my taxes filed at H&R block and I was very clear with the lady that my husband wasn't in Canada. She said that it doesn't matter as long as I am legally married that you can claim your spouse as a dependent. I had to tell her what his "world income" was in Canadian dollars and I gave her a copy of my marriage certificate to keep on file and I also had with me copies of Western Union transfers as proof that I support him from time to time. She said that CRA would most likely do an inquiry but because I'd given her proof of marriage and financial support that they wouldn't need to contact me again and that HR Block would take care of it if there was an inquiry. Hope that helps :)

On another note I just received a letter from CRA saying that I was being reassessed on my GST Benefit credit because my status had changed to married. I had to send them a letter explaining that my husband was not yet in the country and give them his world income for 2011.

Fingers crossed that there's good news this week for everyone!
My husband brother is a tax specialist in Manitoba and his brother told him that he could not find a form or information related to filing for tax exemption for non residence spouse. I told my husband about what you did and he wanted me to ask you, if you filed with a tax company? if so which one? and what form did you use and where you got it? and if you got benefits yet. He got his tax returns last month. But he wanted to file again as an error. Thank you

I just remembered Happy birthday to our girl tyldim and wishing her hubby a safe travel today bless up everyone

Good afternoon
The weather outside has me down in the dumps, i can't wait for the next 2 weeks to be over so i can enjoy the beautiful Jamaican weather.

I AM sure though. That if they updated ECAS once and a while with valid information that has a little bit of substance. They probably wouldn't have to mention that correspondence should be kept to a minimum. People would spend less time answering emails that have been asking the same question over and over and maybe they might process a few more applications a little bit quicker .... Just sayin.

Come on Kingston - our friend! We would like a L'il something before the day is done ;)

Yes we have similar stories. Been together with my husband for 6 yrs. got married September 2011 and started this long terrible process 1 year later on sept 24 2012. My file was transferred to KGN November 2nd

I've tried to contact KGN but they keep giving me what I think is a run around. I've gotten no "voluntary" emails from them since I was accepted as a sponsor.
Would love to hear something with substance. Anything :) even...." Hey Danielle. I was dusting off this old desk and found your file. "

Haha

we are sure here to help each other out ......to reply on someone quote......just click on quote on the right side of the person name that you want to reply on there message you just read.. once you click on it, when the screen change you will see a box with the person message that you want to reply too. at the bottom of the message you going to see the word quote in the brackets...just put the cursor at the end of the bracket and start typing..but dont delete any before you start typing......i hope that can help you..........you have one more post to make then you can add your status just like i told you before
