kmc... as far as the letter goes, i believe it's a form letter that is sent out to most/all spousal applications... so the date on it is relatively arbitrary if you will... maybe these timelines will help? they are reflective of all the processing that has occured over the timeframe indicated (i believe the calendar year of 2009)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp

(kingston is in the bottom table)

if your case is simple you can expect to be in a lower %ile, however sometimes there are delays that have no rhyme or reason at all, so i'm sure many would tell you not to set your expectations glued to a specific date or timeframe else you may end up driving yourself batty...

as far as accessing the site... have you made sure you are logged in (top right corner there should be a login/out button)... i've accessed it without issue from the iphone, and once logged in, it usually leaves me logged in

Good Morning All................... Wow Wow Wow..... Congrats to you highlyflavoured! That is amazing!

What a great way to start off the week..... and i am loving how so many people have started to come back on the forum... positive thougts - positive outcome!

Welcome anxiouslywaiting - this is a great forum!

Here was my time line..... FYI

Sent application to CIC missisauga March 20 09
Approved as sponsor April 1 09
KG receives package April 7 09 (estimate)
AOR received June 8 09
Documents Requested (birth paper, marriage certif, etc) June 25 09
Documents sent July 3 09
Passport Request October 21 09
Passprort Received November 2 09
Hubby landed in Toronto November 3 09

So it took just under 7 months from when KG received my package to when he received his visa in his passport.

We did experience AOR and document request early on in the process then sat idle for for 3 and a half months with no word from Kingston! VERY FRUSTRATING.

My hubby had never left the island and we had no dependants or never been married before!

KMC... the medical doesnt have to be done within 3 months... the police check has to be completed within 3 months of sending off the appilcation... BUT the medical is only valid for 1 year....

IF you hubby did his medical in November (i think i read that i could be wrong) you are more than likely in the situation where you will have to re-do medical unless you get approved before the date the medical expires (1 year from doing medical)

If you hubby has to re-do medical while the file is in process then it could add MONTHS on to your application 2 months minimum..

Welcome home Chelley... glad your arrival went well! I saw on FB that you said it was snowing so i fifgured you were not in Toronto since we didnt see any snow over the weekend! Keep hubby warm lol.

Hey everyone,

Congrats HF on your great news and WELCOME to all the newbies.

Happy belated Mother's Day to all you mothers and soon to be mothers. Hope the day went fabulous yesterday ;D

I would like some help regarding RPRF.

Since my application is at a VO outside Canada, could I still pay the RPRF online at cic.gc.ca?

how can you find out if you have already paid for RPRF? I think I may have but I don't remember.

If I make a double payment, is CIC going to rip me off or do they send back one of the payments?

Here is my timeline:

We did the Medicals in August 2009 and the Police Cert. in October of 2009. All fees were paid in November 2009.

December 3rd my application was mailed to CPC-M and December 29th it was rejected because the "Additional Family" form was missing.

January 11th resubmitted the application to CPC-M and they received it January 13th. On January 18th my Sponsorship was approved & fwd to KG. January 26th hubby received his AOR letter.

On February 10th ECAS updated to "In Process". March 10th I was in JA and received the call for original documents. Went down to KG March 15th and submitted original documents.

May 10th (Today) ECAS updated to Medical Results Received. I sent a text message to hubby to tell him the good news and in a matter of 20 minutes he one upped me by telling me he got the call from KG to bring in his passport Tuesday or Wednesday this week. ;D

And I have a perma-smile on my face that I think will last until he gets here. SO happy. :D ;) Do you think I'm actually going to be able to get any work done today?!?! LOL Umm, nope.

Thanks everyone! :) I expect to see more GOOD news this month.

Hi Highlyflavoured!

You must be soooo happy right now, i know exactly what you are going through. If you look on trackitt you will notice that it takes an average of 10 - 20 days to get the passport back after it has been dropped off.

There was one lady...im pretty sure it is helpmeplease... she got asked to bring in her PP really quick too but had to wait over a month to get it back.... this was a one off situation but just thought id throw it out there not to burst your bubble or anything... i promise... even tho getting hubby here within a month would be great regardless... pefect time to come... just in time for summer!

waiting for hubby to get passport back is a different kinda wait... its a different kinda anxioty... i went crazy during this time... i was packing, unpacking, getting rid of things i held on to for no good reason such as love letters from x boyfriends, pictures of x boyfriends, i had to make room in my closets for him, I had to buy extra bath towels and extra coathangers, and buy guy stuff like deodrant and bodywash and slippers for around the house, I had to get him prepared for the winter with winter jackets and clothes and things and most importantly... I GOT A NEW PHONE WITH A NEW PHONENUMBER lol....oh and i deleted everything off my computer including history and pictures and favourites, then i had to get keys cut for the house and all sorts of things.... man it was a lot to do in 10 days but i did it!

Oh and there will be no way you will get work done today or even for the rest of the week...

do you have vacation days that you are able to take to spend some time with hubby when he gets here?

Hi KC...

Man oh Man so much to do! I have about 7.5 days of time off left but I do have the option to work from home which is good and even if I didn't have any time left I live 3 minutes from my work so I could come home on break and lunch time. :)

I totally need to make some closet room and take a trip to IKEA to get a couple of dressers. LOL @ guy stuff - so true I need to stock up on all of that. I'll have to get him a cell phone for when he gets here.

Since my hubby's come in to my life I don't remember anyone else that came before... :D I know we can all speak to that.

Tips ladies! I need some tips on long distance plans (he's got relatives in JA, UK and USA). I've got Rogers but I think there long distance to JA is like 22 cents or 29 cents a minute plus you have to pay the extra 18$ a month for the service! Not ready to get gouged out on that stuff.

I'm excited and I'm jumping off the wall. I feel like kickin' puppa lick across the work floor here. We've all be praying and everyone at my church has been praying adn everyone at his church has been praying for our applications to get in the hands of His angels and truly he has. As long as I know that this process is done, I'm okay with the PP Pickup wait. Sort of.

congrats on the update HF!!

Yes I am the one that waited 6 weeks for kingston to call for him to pickup passport..I sent them 3 emails..which I never got any reply to and when they finally called him they said they had tried to call him already (BS) anyways the visa was dated the day after he dropped off his PP...if you see within 2 weeks no call I suggest you email them just to make sure they have not forgotten about you :)

Congrats again...already 2 months on wednesday that hubby landed :)

Sorry, confusednscared. I actually am not sure how you would verify if you've already paid. :-\

But I think there is a delay on refunding if you pay twice. I remember reading that much on the cic.gc.ca website.

Highly.....Congrats, thats great news for you and your hubby

Anxiouslywaiting...welcome, its a great place to be. I am heading into my 13th month of processing, this place often keeps me sane lol

KMC....congrats on the approval letter, one more step in the right direction

Chelly... welcome home, glad everything went relatively well. Sorry you got hit with snow off the hop, but summer is on its way :)

Maple...mi miss you bad bad...hows the jeloppy treating you?....got myself something a little newer that sounds a little less like a lawn mower lol

Confused....I think all payments are made to the CIC i so would assume you can pay it online, phone them and inquire if you want to be safe
You can phone them to confirm a reciept of payment, so give them a call and ask if they have recieved your RPRF fee, if not, then maybe you didn't pay it. But if you pay it aa second time they will return it to you, they wont rip you off.

sorry confused.... Is there any way you could track bank records? Also, if you have your reciept you should see it.... I believe its 490.00$ (dont quote me)

Worst case situation, they will ask you to pay it.... it can add some time on to your processing time, and if you are questioning because you would like to send it off (if havent already to avoid that added time) Most definetly they will send you money back if you over paid them. I originally had over paid on my application and they sent me back the money in cheque form after I got approved for sponsorship.

Highlyflavoured - There are some good rates to USA through Rogers but not so much to UK.. Calling cards to the UK is probably the best... unless you are calling a lot.. then you might want to get a euro plan... Calling cards to USA are amazing... 2 dollar card you can talk for hours.... You can get a calling card here and call JA too but nothing can beat the rates in JA.... what we did was set up a phone in JA before my hubby came and we top it up for them... you can do this online so you dont even have to send money back there. This phone is at his parents house and we do the 16 hours top up - which lasts forever!. If any of his family or friends want to call him they just go to his parents house and use the phone - they dont have to worry about paying and we dont have to worry about getting calling cards... if we want to get a hold of them they know not to answer when we call and to ring us back.

confusedand scared I found something! But you have to create a login and then I'm assuming you shoudl be able to find out if you have already paid your fees and what you have paid.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ols/login.do?&app=epayweb&page=ViewReceipts&lang=en

i found a link on the CIC website under "Related Topics" : Retrieve previous payments

Hope that is helpful. :)
