I AGREE. MY WIFE IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON THAN SHE WAS BEFORE. SHES A LO MORE LOVING AND CARING TO ME NOW. BACK IN THE DAYS EVERYTIME WE HAD AN ARGUMENT SHE WOULD THREATEN TO CANCEL THE PAPERS WHICH SHE EVENTUALLY DID. SHE ALSO CONFESSED THAT SHE WAS SEEING SOMEONE ELSE. I ALMOST DIED FROM A BROKEN HEART AND EXTREME DEPRESSION. IT TOOK A WHOLE LOT OF PRAYERS AND FORGIVENESS FOR US TO GET TO WHERE WE AT NOW.

So I now know why our file was updated to in process
Yesterday evening my husband let me know that he received an interview request for October 10th
Lol funny how we were all talking about this yesterday and the same time they sent out one for us
I was furious and depressed when I heard but (thanks jamgirl and others for calming me and showing me that this is not such a bad thing)
Good thing is I will be in Jamaica at the time of his interview so even though I wont be able to go in with him I can still be there outside for emotional support …… I am about to order the gcms notes ….. sighhhhh …… all of a sudden that video idea don’t sound so bad lmfao

Good morning!

RFMO, it is not the end of the world to have an interview request. Recently a couple of hubbies, including AliCat's, had interviews and both were successful. Go ahead and order your GCMS notes pronto. Start gathering all further proof of continued contact between you two since your last visit, and make sure you include information concerning your upcoming visit. The GCMS notes will give you specific hints on what they are questioning, and so should the interview letter. Make sure you both understand why he has been convoked so he can counter all concerns. Make sure he is absolutely familiar with EVERY aspect of the application.

Some advice for your husband when he goes for the interview: Dress for a business interview. Kingston is hot as Hades, I know, so I am not recommending a suit and tie, BUT he should dress in a collared shirt and nice slacks, both properly pressed, clean shoes, neatly groomed. No cargo shorts/pants, no multiple gold chains, no merino/tank top, no t-shirt, no work boots etc. I mention these things because I saw them on both of my visits to the embassy, and I was AMAZED that people would show up at the offices of a foreign government to have dealings with them dressed in that fashion. This is a very important interview, your husband needs to dress in a way that mirrors the expectations of the interviewer, who will be wearing business/office attire.

The good news is you have plenty of time to prepare, and I know you will!

hey all... been lurking and rooting for you all, glad to see new faces come and even gladder when the older ones go

anyways, just a comment on the interview... since you'll be there, go with your husband to the embassy... you will allowed to accompany him into the waiting room at a minimum, and let the interviewer know you're there... they may not (probably won't) want to talk to you, but your presence will help add creditability and if the interviewer has any questions/doubts they are free to call you into the office at any time during the interview at their discretion.

and i totally agree on attire, most jamaicans know that they should not enter their own government offices in such a fashion, it baffles my mind that some feel it appropriate to enter a foreign government office of a country they are hoping to be granted access to... this is more important than any job interview you will ever have, there will be other job interviews, unless you're planning on marrying a whole wealth of foreigners there will likely not be other immigration interviews... treat it accordingly! Dress appropriately, speak appropriately, present yourself appropriately... nothing less than that should be an option!
