Hello, my office was Saskatoon but I ended up getting oath from Winnipeg. I took my Oath on March 15 and it was closed on March 22. I still haven’t received certificate. I informed the officer during oath that I will be travelling on April 15. Can anyone advice on what I can do to get certificate? Thanks

In person. Took 3 working days. With proof of travel and extra charge.
Good for you. Mailing my application before 60 days of the expected travel's date was a mistake. I should have waited one day before my travel and applied. That's what passport Canada wants. Only then they work efficiently.

How did you apply? In person? It's been 40 days for me an still waiting the passport.
So the mail-in timing greatly varies than in-person. i thought it should not take more than few days difference.

Although i m quite far away still from this situation, but what if there is urgent need to travel while passport is not received for 40 days? Should one use our earlier citizenship country passport to travel? Ex in my case India

Applying in-mail or in-person at Service Canada (not passport office) are roughly the same, theoretically speaking, in terms of processing time, although I think via Service Canada they are more credible because they give you a max date to expect the passport at. The only efficient way to get your passport IMO is by having a ticket as a proof of travel in less than 25 business day and apply via passport office, even if it means you delay applying for your passport. If you show them a ticket they treat you VIP. Some applicants got it in 5 hours. Otherwise, your application will take forever, although they claim it takes 20 business, which is just a big fat lie. In all cases don't mail in. At least you will keep your original certificate if you apply at Service Canada. This option wasn't allowed when I applied. After 40 days, I don't have the passport and I don't have the certificate. Basically there is nothing with me proves I am Canadian right now, which is a terrifying thought  Besides reaching them is a pain. Terrible experience.

Did my interview this morning. How long do I have to wait for the next step? See my signature.

As per bls site, they seem to give 3 month grace period but we cannot take chance with border guys since not all will be going with books instead they might go with usual practice. So avoid traveling with Indian passport after acquiring the foreign passport to avoid headache and charges at the border.
You cant plan for unknown emergency.

Agree Hari, after acquiring canadian passport will not use Indian passport, but before getting the passport and after getting the certificate we can still use Indian passport right? Because i have L1 visa for US and i would need to fly back to US after oath and have certificate delivered to my friends home
