Hello to all:

Just want to share my status here.

Send application: June 15, 2018
Received by CIC: June 25, 2018
AOR: August 24, 2018
In Process: August 31, 2018

My question is until now we didn't receive any invite to take test. We are 6 applicant in one envelope. Why until now we didn't receive test invite.

Second question. Our PR will expire on May 2019, should we renew our PR Card can we wait for the Citizenship.

Can I call the CIC to inquire why taking so long (I believe Scarborough CIC) is the one who handling our application.

Renewing PR is another expense and we are 6 member of my family to renew if ever.

KundKi advise best thing to do.

Thank you
I had the same situation , PR renewal or wait for citizenship
Realizing that IRCC citizenship timelines are not reliable so applied for PR renewal .

Hello,

If juat for me then I can renew my PR. But we are 6 applicant and it involves more money. Afterall we don't have plan to go out of Canada so just wait for the Citizenship. I have a feeling that within this month, we can receive updates with our application.

I have added your information to the sheet, can you please share your Physical presence days?

I understand waiting is frustrating, but your timeline seems normal. Many people from April and even March have not received their test invites. The total processing time they took to finish most complete applications is 12 months, so you are well within average processing time. You can give IRCC call centre a call and ask, but the agent can't really tell you much, especially if it has not been 12 months since you applied.

As for renewing the PR CARD, your permanent residence does not "expire", what does expire is your PR card. Even if your PR card is not valid, you are still a PR of Canada. Renewing the card is up to you and whether you think you will want to leave Canada and return, as once it is expired you will not be able to use it to fly into Canada. If you are sure you will not leave and need to return before you get your citizenship, then you don't have to renew the card. Having said that, the process is unpredictable and there is really no telling how long it will take, so this is a personal choice you have to make :) I hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply...my physical presence including my family is 1,345 days each family member except for my eldest daughter which is 1,295 days.

Hi Samdavi,

it means your citizenship application has been approved, and you are in line for an Oath Ceremony to become a Canadian :) did your interviewer not say anything about it? Mine said it was all good for Oath, then I got DM the next day

Yes, they basically told me the same thing. But I thought we could see the decision online, which we can't. Thanks!
And congrats!

You can! Decision Made means a yes, they wouldn't decide a no without asking for more information or sending you explanation :) a no is communicated very formally, they make it clear you can appeal etc. (or forward you to a CJ). We are good!

Hi there,
I had the same situation and I applied for PR at the same time I applied for my citizenship and FYI, they renew PR card not less then five months. It is a long process also. My son and I applied in June and got our PR cards in late October. So, don't bother!!!
