OK, you win. I thought ours was heavy at 5 lbs.ImABule said:Our application was 11lbs, and we submitted additional proofs after I visited my wife and we vacationed in Bali lol.
That's awesome, so they seem to be right around that average intake time, so since they received ours on June 13 we may have AOR by July 3 or thereabouts. I presume they aren't working on weekends so July 4 may be more likely. If they are quicker, we could have it on June 30 before Canada day holiday...Mrs. Mekeni said:AOR today, 20 days after my application was received. Yay! Hoping for SA soon.
As for proposals, since we are sharing my wife and I knew we wanted to be together forever within the first few months, and so I formally proposed to her and gave her an engagement ring during my first visit to the Philippines when we met in person for the first time. Of course, we didn't really make it public right away as we thought people would make assumptions about our relationship seeing as how we just knew each other for a few months and most of that was long distance. A few months later once we got to know each of our family members a little more, we formalized it on Facebook.
As others have said, I don't think the proposal section is as important to CIC, but in certain cultures the proposal is a much bigger deal, so the forms are generic enough to accommodate that. Same goes for the wedding and reception questions. I put all the details in the wedding section, but because our wedding and reception were a combined event, I just stated that in the reception question.
