Processing time of VO in Beijing is 9 months. I'm hoping for it would come somehow sooner

no, this is the standard formatting information is eneterd into the system. the only way to know if a visa office "recieves" the file is when a visa office sends an AOR2. Most dont, so it's basically hope and prayer. Beijing may actually be one of the few who sends AORs. it does not mean your file has started to process. you will know this is happening if/when the Applicant receives a request for more info or PPR. To know how long applicants generally wait for these at your visa office, find the thread specific to the visa office.

just an FYI... someone in the May thread just posted this:

Hello, my partner received his approval as sponsor on August 1, 2014. The letter he received said that the application was been sent to a processing center abroad but did not specify which one. After reading this tread we started to get worried about the fact that they did not specify the office, so this morning my partner called CIC and apparently they changed a bit their process for those application that are considered simple and non-complex in order to speed up the process. these application stay in Missisauga and will be processed in that office. the visa will then come from the office abroad. Apparently mine is one of the first ones to be processed that way. the positive thing is that our case is seen as non complicate which is good but Missisauga already screwed up our application once so I just hope everything goes well.

So if the approval you received did not specify the office call the CIC and ask where your application had actually been sent. I am not sure what the parameters for "non complicate" are but I hope it really is a faster process.

I just know that I need a vacation after I get my PR. It has been very stressful 8)

Now obviously, i have no idea whether this is true or where the applicant is from. considering some australian applications are being processed in mississauga now, this may be legit. just wanted to post it here in case more applicants are being told their application is in mississauga. perhaps this is all part of the office consolidation, is only for specific visa offices, and is a sign things are starting to get on track over there... as always, when it comes to CIC, only time will tell!

i've been reading this forum for the past 2 months, but this is my first post.

Today I finally received my SA!!!! sooo happy!! I applied on june 6th and CPC-Mississauga received my app on June 9th. Reading how people who applied after me are receiving their SA so quickly, I was very worried.

I even called CIC call center yesterday and the guy told me that he will forward a request on my behalf to the Officer who is looking after my file. IT WORKED! Today i finally got my SA in e-mail.
Thank god.
London Visa Office for me. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!

hi a question to all experts out here. today I got fed up of waiting so long. so I logged into cic with mine, as a sponsor PR card number. found out that they recieved my sponsorship application as well as permenant resident application for my wife. I got so happy that they recieved it. is that what we call AOR? I haven't recieved any email whatsoever. and how will the status change once my eligibility to sponsor approves? thanks.

no that's not officially an AOR. an AOR is sent by email or mail to the sponsor, though apparently CIC is not sending these to all applicants right now. Basically this is good news that at least your application has been opened and started processing for sponsor eligibility. The next notification will be to the sponsor about whether they have been found eligible to sponsor. On ECAS this will be noted on the sponsor's side of the page as "a decision has been made about your application, and a letter has been sent to you". This may happen before or after you receive the approval letter.

woww!! that was a rapid answer. thanks. I should sit tight and wait for the email from their side. is it a good idea to call cic and find out what's happening with the process?
