Just ended my call with CIC agent. Agent was very nice and she didn't see any reason for not reviewing my file She said that she is going to send a note to VO. Let us see if this has any impact on my file.

I was in Second Review...CIC ask me T4 and pay slip copies for year 2014 on Feb. 13 2015....and secondemail on july 9,2015 for re-assessment of medical.

Oh, then your file is different, as we are not under second review.

Like many of you , i am in the same state , my application was received 20th june, i got medical request on 20th feb and status was updated, as medical received (after the common line of application received on 20 june).
Since 13 months passed, I tried calling them and they told me "Ottawa delay is 16 month at present, you may want to try mailing your officer if you want"
Anyway, i have requested GCMS notes,
and I would probably mail the office too...


I just wanted to ask you guys, my office in my primary Mail that i had from CIC was sydney
quoting from mail "Please inform the Centralized Intake Office by e-mail at CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca of any status changes in your application "

So my process is being handled there , or Ottawa, im just confused who to contact...

How can you mail the officer, did you get any mail or email address ?

they gave me mail address of the CIO Ottawa, they didn even ask my file number to be honest, just asked me what office, and I said Ottawa since I had a mail from them requesting my PCC 3 months ago (after medical) to mail these things to Ottawa office

Even after emailing them, you will not get any satisfactory reply. may be you will get some system notification email. Don't expect more..

I wasn't even going to call to be honest after seeing the repetitive responses, just went for it for the sake of it.
Its literally putting my career on hold as I came back to India. I hope they can sort out stuff sooner than 16! months! :-l

Yesterday our 13 months passed. Called CIC and ended up hanging up on the first person we spoke to as she kept asking when our file was transferred to Ottawa, and saying that "things have changed" since we applied.

Called again and spoke to a more reasonable guy. He was happy to immediately access our file. Apparently our file looked good, no second review and that the background check was in progress (standard response) and he couldn't tell when the decision is going to be made.

I know that sending an email is pointless. Might call again and make them send a note to the VO.

Wait time varies. For us it was between 5 and 10 minutes.
